Am I the only one in America who didn't watch either of today's NFL games? (Or any of them from the past two weeks, either?)

porsche4life 01-19-2014 07:57 PM

I think so... I hooked up the rabbit ears so Thuy's friend who was in town from Seattle could watch the game. So even we watched parts of the games!

CIP has these for 70 each... Thinking the silver with rack coated to match would look sweeeeet!!! :D

Sid, nice car. I paid $2,600 for a brand new bug in 1973. Of course that was in 1973 dollars.

porsche4life 01-19-2014 08:12 PM

I wish I could buy new quality ones for 2600 now! ;)

RKDinOKC 01-19-2014 08:14 PM

NFL, what is that.

RKDinOKC 01-19-2014 08:17 PM

Nice score Sid.

My dad watched the games. I saw one tackle when I came in to show him something in a book about the He-162.

I think this might make the first time I ever told a guy 'nice rack'.

porsche4life 01-19-2014 08:46 PM

LOL! Funny man pete! So does that mean my powder coat will be a rackjob? ;)

I love the look of those on a bug. Check out their weight before buying. You don't want to run heavy wheels on a "momentum car."

GH85Carrera 01-20-2014 05:29 AM

Morning folks.

Monday has rolled around once again.

Sid, the price of a bug that runs and stops has never been real low. Way back in 1970 when I bought my first car it was a 60 model bug. My dad gave me a no interest loan for $600. I paid it off in one year. I drove it for three years and sold it for $700. All I did to it was adjust the valves, replace the points & condenser and plugs. Oh yea, I bought a set of 4 recap tires mounted & balanced for $30. Not each, total. $2 worth of gas would get me around for 2 weeks.

The first time I drove my new 60 HP bug I remember thinking "Wow this thing is a rocket" That old 36 HP engine had over 140,000 miles and was pretty much worn out.

My parents had a 4 door 67 Oldsmobile Delta 88 with a 454. In 1979 or 1980 they tried to sell it and had no interest at any price. They sold it to the scrap yard for 40 bucks and they hauled it off. It actually ran and stopped, but not much more. I don't think I ever drove that beast.

Morning all. Nice bug. Off to the funny farm to slave away.

I thought you worked in a salt mine. What is funny about a salt mine? ;)
