I was in Savannah, GA in August. Does that count? The heat index was over 120. The AC in the 911 struggled but one trip at lunch time my wife asked me to turn the temp UP because she was cold. :) the best compliment ever for a 85 Carrera AC system.

You need to have my brother, Bob ride with you somewhere. No matter what temperature it is outside, or what temperature it is in your car, within one block he will complain about your car being either too hot or too cold.

My Corolla is empty of accumulated crap, except for a few things in the trunk that I'll transfer to my new (to me) Camry Hybrid tomorrow. Urban Camouflage has treated me well over the years. Sniff, sad to see it go. Dave from TRE is buying it as a gift for a long time employee that has a 944 that's way past it's ninth life and ready to die.

All this talk of car AC systems reminds me that one of the things I really like about my 964 over my old purple 73E hotrod is it's very functional AC system. Summertime in the DC area can be miserable, and driving a hot stinky air-cooled car with windows down, letting all that mugginess in, just isn't the best driving experience in the world.

Enjoy your new car, Dave. SmileWavy

Back in the stone ages (1974) when I ordered my 914 I knew the factory option list better than any salesman at the dealer. I noticed AC was not a factory option. I was young and broke and tough. When I placed the order I asked about AC and they told me it was indeed a dealer add on option. They said AC was a $1,000 option. I spent $6,750 and another grand was a LOT of money. I skipped the AC. Every winter and at every autocross I was happy with the choice. Every summer day with 90+ temps I cussed my choice.

Back in 1995 when I was shopping for my current 911 the AC was working and I bought the car in August and it was HOT. The AC worked but at stock factory levels. It was better than nothing but not a lot. I fixed that in the spring of 2007. It is the best upgrade I ever did to my 911.

What finger is the stupid finger? Is there a smart finger? What about the thumb? Why is is freaking cold on the last day of April?

Andy911sc 04-30-2014 07:13 AM

Stupid is describing the "finger brace." All my fingers are smart because they are attached to me... ba dum, psshhh. Thanks you, I will be here all week.

HHI944 04-30-2014 07:32 AM

That would make all of my fingers smart-a55es!

Howdy boys and girls. .. It's cold and storming here

Hopefully no spinning vortexes of air and debris.

That would be a good thing to avoid.

Jim Richards 04-30-2014 10:57 AM

No spinning doom around here, but cats and dogs are falling out of the sky.

We could sure use some rain. It is weird how so many storm seem to come up and form just east of the metro and head east. Arkansas is drenched and wants to dry out and we keep missing the rain. Just strange weather patterns.

The weather forms East of OKC and goes to Arkansas because Arkansas sucks and the Texas Panhandle blows.
