I just sailed a laptop across the room and the damn thing still works. Okay I updated my firefox and had to do all the things that go along with it, no biggie. Then I get the banner pop up, do you want to use google as your search engine, yes so I follow the two steps and close and re open and I get the do you want to use google as your home page, yes so I do the two steps, close and re open and I get the pop up banner do you want to use google as your search engine...................I played that game for twenty mins and threw the computer across the room.,

bloody bolts on the tojo steering rack are giving me curry. Got all but two with the rattle gun. One I had to hit the nut with a torch before the bolt would move. The last bolt wont budge. Tried heat, hitting it, the rattle gun, even a few choice words. I've now been pushing and shoving so hard I've pulled a muscle in both my neck and my left tit. Almost blew out the sphincter! Got some penetrating oil in it now and I'll have another crack at in the morning. Time to get on the turps and forget about it for a while.

I did pass my road rules test (with 100%) today, part 1 of getting a motorcycle licence completed, part 2 to complete next weekend. Gotta spend a day and a half doing riding theory and practical classes and tests.

New hot water unit in and appears to be all honky dorey. Now it's hurry up and wait for the gov rebate.

dang, that sounds egregious. i did my written and practical test when i was 17. the practical test on the yamaha FZR 700 was a little tricky. the guy running the test said, and i quote, "accelerate as fast as you can and hit the brake when i drop my arm." i said, and i quote, "are you sure?!" he said, "yes." he did manage to drop his arm within about 2 tenths of a second. i managed to keep the motorcycle in a straight line with only a minor skid mark.

also, i had to set the "choke" (really it just kept the idle somewhat higher than regular driving) in order to get through the cones. i managed without hitting a cone or setting a foot down. i think the guy running the show was amazed when we got past that point.

It's a balmy 20 degrees here, unless you factor in the wind chill. It feels like 8. On the other hand, it's mid-50s heading up to mid-60s in SoCal. But, I'm in DC. :(

If our Feb, April, and July trips go well, we should have the interior of the house finished, and we can start thinking of moving furniture there from our condo. Then, well freshen up the interior of the condo and get it on the market. Fingers crossed that there aren't any major snafus.

Outback Porsche 01-31-2015 05:28 AM

I've got the aircon set at 18 C :)

Morning folks.

My wife tells me that her friend Susan who lives in Springfield, Mo. Is coming down to Kansas to meet up with Cherlyn and they are heading here for 5 days! I get two extra 60 something ladies invading my space. It will be a gab fest. The last time the three of them got together I went to a hotel for two days. I may spend a lot of time in the garage.

pete3799 01-31-2015 08:46 AM

Finally got that last little storm cleaned up today. Snowed all day yesterday. Started at 4am to get the bus routes plowed and sanded first then the rest of the town. Then had to do it all over again for the afternoon bus run. 4am this morning.......do them all again.

Got the house and garage cleaned up with my $1005.00 ex town truck. Probably a little over 4000.00 between the new trans., new turbo, and misc. parts. Still have rust issues to address but it is running good now.

Just 0* this morning......it's warmed up to a scorching 2 above right now.
