What is your route home thru Cali?

Down 101 to Paso Robels east on 46 to 99 and south to Bakersfield. The worst part of the entire trip is Bakersfield to Barstow. 58 sucks big ones most of the trip. It is horrible. Then I-40 home. I wish there was another way to get to Barstow & I-40.

I did that in 2007. I am afraid of the deer around SLO now. Those things are crazy as a red head and cost me a lot of money last time.

We talked to several locals and they suggested we leave for the San Jose airport and plan on two hours of travel time with rush hour. My wife wants 30 minutes more so we are up.

I have lots to get done today after I get back.

Then I get back and get ready for the DE. There is a track meeting at the same time as the autocross banquet. I will be late to the banquet but I paid too much to waste the meal. Unless they really think it is vital. to be there.

I've travelled 101 around San Jose airport a few times, it can be a car park sometimes.

There's a really remote possibility I'm flying into San Jose in September.

As an out of towner it is astonishing they have not made that 4 lanes wide all the way. Even if it was just a standard open access highway the extra lane would be worth it. Not my problem after today.

When I was last there (a little while now) they were just adding a third lane south bound.
