I have one. Had it for years. Fortunately I never speed, that is for scofflaws. ;)
Mine is mounted under the mirror with a cool bracket and wired to the mirror. I have the rear view mirror with a built in garage door opener, thermometer and compass. It also automatically dims when some moron in a jacked up pickup is right behind me with his high beams on.

My best packing of the 911 was last summer, 8 long guns, two pistols, enough ammo to overthrow a small country, two boxes of clays, a thrower, and Beth and her crap. That was a fun weekend

Used to drive from OKC to Atlanta, 900 miles on a regular basis. It's a before sun up to well after dark driving distance.

Just updated my Valentine 1. It was going wonky. Haven't road tripped since i got it updated.

I just down shift and hit 'go' when I get one of those jerkoffs behind me.

All of my gear fits in the trunk...barely. That's the AR, the handspoon, 3000 pieces of spoon food, molle vest and two weeks worth of clothing....and all the electrogizmos...and the cover for the car since parking is outdoors.

That all fits in the Lotus?

I installed lighter aluminum calipers in the rear, removed the old sway bars with the worn out bushings, upgraded the rear torsion bars from 29mm solid to 31mm hollow (fronts are solid 22mm), raised the ride heights front and rear to restore much-needed suspension travel (I could bottom it out by taking a local roundabout fast), and corner balanced for best handling.

This weekend I will check the alignment, go for a shakedown drive, and clean it a bit. Then maybe install the windscreen wipers. Then figure out what I am going to take. My computer bag and enough shorts and T-shirt for the week and probably some oil and tools and that's about it.

I think the new higher ride height doesn't look too bad. The car handles better than ever.

Dang 2200 lbs is light. Mine is 2800.

That is with me in it, by the way, and more than a half tank of fuel. I am about 180 pounds.

If we find a convenient opportunity you are welcome to take it for a test drive. It is really noisy inside though. Rattles, squeaks, clunks, wind, etc. But the engine drowns them all out above about 4,000rpm. The gearbox and wind will put up a good challenge to it above 80mph though.

No doubt you have a lightweight track special. I will stick to my heavy pig 2800 pound car with sound dreading, and heat and air, stereo and reasonable ride. I am to old for the lightweight cars. I loved my 2,000 pound 914. All it needed was another 100 hp. I had enough wind noise to last a lifetime, that and no AC.

Surprisingly.... the little thing actually has a fairly good sized trunk.

The Lotus is 2300ish, supposedly easy to get down to below 2000 and still maintain AC and stuff like that....wind noise is pretty rough though, no real point in having the top up, but the stereo actually works pretty well at 70 with the top down...

I dunno. I just am. I think I was 165 about 6 years ago (at 18) when I was at my thinnest. People kept telling me I was too skinny. Now I don't really weigh myself except for corner balances. I feel like it is pretty stable though and I'm not fat enough to really want to go hungry. I've got more muscle than I did at 18 and more energy too. But less willpower. I had to devote less time to working out when I wasn't getting good grades in college. I made the right choice.

At 13-14 I was something like 210.

My weight varies by a few pounds depending on hydration and things. I was actually 175 and 179 on two occasions when I stood on the scale on my own. But I figured I would just round up to 180.

Even at its lowest my car was never this bad! Make sure to watch all the way until the end. :)

The body trim in front of the rear wheels did have a flat spot from rubbing the ground in hard turns.

That's really clever...quick-release body panels to enable driving on uneven pavement.

Lovely morning here in our Nation's capitol. At 7:45am, 81 degrees, 80% humidity, no breeze. Can't wait for my next SoCal work-cation.
