Glen any chance those scales can be borrowed again in a few months when I get ready to do mine?

Oh and I just realized you still haven't taken me for a ride at autocross... So you will have to with this new setup... After I beat you of course... :p

RKDinOKC 06-22-2010 10:12 PM

It is closer, but aren't the cross numbers supposed to be equal? ie., 532+809 = 554+846. Did you run out of height adjustment? When I did my white 944 Turbo it was on a Saturday at Dumont's and Mike and I were able to get them equal. Made a 2 second difference in my lap times. But my springs were a bit stiffer than stock and I could feel the suspension rocking on transitions before the corner balancing. We added less than 1/16" to the low corners to bring it up to equal. It was about at your final adjustment when we started.\

Just for fun the 944 Turbo ended up 50.5/49.5 weight distribution front to rear. Yours is 39.6/60.4

Morning dudes!

busy busy again, not enough time to waste.... ;)

porsche4life 06-22-2010 10:42 PM

Ok night boys... Got class, a Dr apt, lab, and then a friend of mine is coming out... I think we are going to the movies for her birthday.... I don't really care what we do... ;)

Schumi 06-22-2010 10:44 PM

Glen, your cross is 51.1%. The aim is to be at perfect 50%. This may sound close but 1% is actually a large deviation when doing cross weights. We always try to get within a few tenths.

livi 06-22-2010 10:56 PM

Morning, dudisimas!

GH85Carrera 06-23-2010 05:23 AM

To get to 50% would require one corner to be 8 or 9 mm higher than the other corner. With the car parked it would look pretty strange. Now the corners are within 4 mm of the same height. It is not a track car, but a road car that I sometimes track. It was the best compromise.

Sid I am sure the scales are available when needed.

GH85Carrera 06-23-2010 03:30 PM

Just bumping back to page one.

I got my tires mounted today. So now I can drive to the car wash and power wash all the rear suspension parts, and touch up paint the parts. Maybe by Saturday afternoon I will be done!

Schumi 06-23-2010 06:36 PM

Glen, did you level those scale pads by shimming them on that rack before you put the car on it? Just making sure...

GH85Carrera 06-23-2010 07:58 PM

That rack is an alignment rack, not just a lift. To do the alignment it has to be accurate. Each corner is a "slip plate" and can move around. All measured with lasers.

Sid,

the "and then wel...." followed by "got a scrip from the doktor...." does not paint a pretty picture.....

Hey you, don't be silly, put a condom on your willy.... :D:D:D

If you don't want your peepee to hurt and act mean, only go out with girls that are clean.....

Now please tell us those two things have nothing to do with one another...(you know, the "then well..." and the 'scrip from the doctor")

;)

porsche4life 06-23-2010 10:52 PM

Definitely unrelated... I went to the doktor before the movies.... Trying to get this hip thing sorted out....

Geronimo '74 06-23-2010 10:56 PM

Make sure pills alone do the trick.
Maybe a chiropractor or some fysiotherapy are needed too.
(IMO pills alone seldom are enough)
Get is sorted out, hip trouble affects everyday life in a major way.

Is it a muscle problem, is it the joint??

slodave 06-23-2010 10:57 PM

Might try reverse cowgirl too... That should help the hips.

porsche4life 06-23-2010 10:57 PM

No pills... 4 wks of Physical therapy 3x/wk....
