Well, Elicia and I just put in an offer on a house. Hopefully all goes well. She is excited!

Nothing like a new mortgage to start a marriage. Good luck on the house.

My college room mate had one.... Jolly good fun! ;)

He had the barrel of a nosin turned so we could use it on that too. Lots if fun.

no garage, i know bummer. There is an area to keep my 911 out of the weather until one gets built. We couldn't pass up on how great of a home it was for the price. All brick 1900sqft, 2.5 story on 1.5 acres surrounded by farmland. We will hear by friday if they accept the offer. We went in kind of aggressive with the offer to try and trump anyone else.

Good Thursday morning.

When we were looking for houses I told Mrs. Carrera if it did not have a 3 car garage it had to have room for a shop building and easy access to said shop. We looked at one house that had 5 acres of grass. I would be spending all day mowing that field. I did not want to raise horses or cattle so it was scratched off the list.

It is about right. There is a lot of wasted space in the entry way. The TV in every room is a good feature.

The vehicles are all wrong but if there is room for a giant SUV a Porsche will fit with room to spare. There for sure needs to be room for a lift and and a workshop area so the garage will need to be bigger.

porsche4life 08-21-2014 06:55 AM

Only one lift glen? A shop that size needs several.

RKDinOKC 08-21-2014 07:04 AM

Good freaking morning

Well, there is just me to work on projects. I guess I could spring for more lifts. Probably a lot of floor drains and a big wash bay. For sure a bathroom and a beer fridge out there. Built it all underground so it stays at 68 degrees all the time. Just have an elevator to get the cars to ground level.

I'm thrilled to have a modest 2-car garage at my SoCal outpost. I only have a parking space under our DC condo building.

GH85Carrera 08-21-2014 08:03 AM

I just love my garage and the house it is attached to. It would be nice to have more space in the workshop area. Since we have everything paid for I can't see us moving until it is to the assisted living home and I hope that is many years from now. Mrs Carrera will retire next July. I don't see any reason to retire anytime soon. I just want to beat the record of my last boss and retire before I am 92.

Having multiple lifts just lets you work on another car while one is up and waiting for parts.

Porsche-poor 08-21-2014 08:35 AM

Multiple lifts would cut down on all the shuffling to get to one lift.

I went to a visit a friend of mine that lived in Atlanta back in the 70s. He was into Ferraris and he said he wanted to show me a friend of his garage. We were in a Daytona 356 GTB4 and it was HOT in there.

We go to a very nice house and pull around back. There is a 8 car garage with a choice Ferrari in each bay except the bay at the end. It had a lift and it looked like the snap-on truck just unloaded a simi-trailer of tools. All of his buddies in the Ferrari club would come over and watch as a hired mechanic was working on some restoration. The man had enough equipment to run a business repairing Ferraris but he just hired some pro to fix his other 7 cars as needed.

It was awe inspiring. A bunch of old men dressed in red clothes and Ferrari logos all just hanging out watching some mechanic work.

You guys missed the benefit to multiple lifts... You double the storage capacity of that spot by using a lift!
