Okay I want to meet the jack-wipe who designed the update section for my GPS. Simple easy to follow instructions laden with buy this options and lots of crap to download to transfer. Yeah I wanna go all Joe on that butt munch.
Sid because of the ethanol and carbs you should run sty-bil all the time in the bug, even when it is getting used a lot. I run it in Lanna and Peggy all year round and they really don't sit.
I have a bunch of errands to run today including going over to help the one armed Dad, and I am so looking forward to driving the Boxster instead of that damn Camry I have for a few weeks.

RKDinOKC 08-23-2014 08:26 AM

Well, it has started...

Ran some errands this morning in the Pepper and the Airbag Fault light came on.
After got home faint smell of coolant.
Had to run another quick errand and there was a rattling noise at idle and when I rev it from idle get belt squeal.
Got home and it puked about a gallon of coolant. At least I think it's coolant, it's colorless, but kind of oily feeling between my fingers and faintly smells like coolant.
Temp gauge reads normal.

Topped up the coolant, about 3 quarts and started it up. Rattle reduced significantly. No more coolant leak that I can see.

I'm thinking water pump but who knows with all this new fangled stuff like water cooled alternator. Will have to crawl around under it and see if I can determine were the juice came from after it cools off.
Internet says water pumps are under $200 and takes 6 hours.

Kinda like the Rover, got a good enough deal that I can fix quite a bit before I spent more than it's worth.
Figured it was going to have some kind of issues because most people don't sell or trade a car that is not having any problems.

That sucks

azzarule 08-23-2014 08:49 AM

morning all,

Midget playing on his computer listening to golden oldies.

Me reading the last week or so of what y'al have been up to.

Hubby out fishin' with friends.

Nice relaxing day really. Currently teaching the Midget to drive in the auto Durango, but Steve has that today parked somewhere, so might venture out with Marilyn and give him a lesson in a stick shift, unless of course he doesn't get it at all, then it will be a very short lesson.

Richard, do not change the wheels, if you put those bigger wheels on you will look like half of the 'hood boys cars driving around Southern Maryland, they live in the trailer parks, have no money at all, but can afford huge silver/chromed/bling wheels on their 5hit cars.

RKDinOKC 08-23-2014 09:08 AM

But Mom, the trailer park boys wid no money and the blinged up 5hit get all the ex stripper ho hair stylists sugar mommas, glitter.

Morning peepels

Yay! It's yard work Sunday. :(

RKDinOKC 08-23-2014 02:48 PM

I fought the lawn and the lawn won. It cheated with a roofing nail to the foot, the bastard.

HHI944 08-23-2014 02:56 PM

Yeah, but did you get a creepy photo or two of the girl selling the roof?

RKDinOKC 08-23-2014 03:24 PM

She never climbed the ladder to check out the damage, so no creepy photo of her going up the ladder from behind.

HHI944 08-23-2014 03:58 PM

Darn....

Rick V 08-23-2014 06:00 PM

I thought it was a requirement to always take creepy photos of women roofers

GH85Carrera 08-23-2014 08:08 PM

Evening folks.

We had a typical drive down Rt 66 for several miles then to hue 81 on into Ocarche for fried chicken. Eischens has a real money maker all cash. Good fried chicken zero silverware or plates to wash or replace.

RKDinOKC 08-23-2014 08:12 PM

Ah, the chicken run.

Yep. Burp.

Good stuff.

RKDinOKC 08-23-2014 08:17 PM

Clumping cat litter makes horrible oil-dry for cleaning up coolant. It's like it soaks into the coolant instead of soaking it up.

And before you comment, it was clean, new, unused cat litter.

Think I'm going to train the cat to use the toilet and get rid of the litter box.

When I needed someone to take me to meet the transporter bringing in the Cayenne I called my SIL that lives a coupe of miles away instead of my Brother or his wife that live on the other side of my back fence. My brother was disappointed that I did not call him. Told him I figured he was busy.

So, Today at noon I called my brother telling him I needed a ride to the grocery store and back as i did not get that part of my errands run before the Cayenne belt started squealing and rattling and did not want to risk being stranded if it broke or the water pump seized. He said he would be by in a little bit.

That was noon, it is NOW 10:30 PM and brother has not showed up yet. This is precisely why I do not call him. Won't be doing it again only called him because of the comment he made. Darn good thing it was just a routine trip to the grocery store and not a mission critical one. We don't need TP...yet.

Start collecting leaves. Just make sure that ('cause it's now dark) they're not from poison ivy.

RKDinOKC 08-23-2014 10:47 PM

Have a couple of "Emergency" phone books.

Porsche-poor 08-24-2014 12:20 AM

Headed home soon.

RKDinOKC 08-24-2014 03:49 AM

For those that have cats, that new light weight cat litter stinks. Bad, and now my garage and driveway smell like a cat box. Going to have ta watch me step fer a while.
