Well all packed and about to head to Columbus, I am fooking thrilled Gonna try and catch up with Icemaster, we are playing phone tag, and BillTheCat, so there is a slight chance of having some fun this week. Yeah school.
Beth has her court date on tuesday and since I can't be there to support her and make sure her old boss isn't going to try any kind of intimidation in the parking garage I have enlisted the help of my Dad, who is a rather big fella, and the Sheriff's office, where Dad just retired from. Beth will be very very safe, and to be honest I am glad I didn't have to get my son to go with her. He would end up in jail, just because this jack hole made his mom cry. I raised that one right

Mornin' y'all. Hey, Rick. Best wishes to Beth on her court date. And you have fun in school.

Dave, have a pleasant trip back to the PNW.

Rick V 08-24-2014 05:11 AM

It just dawned on me why Dave went to the UK, he likes to go places that have the same crappy weather

GH85Carrera 08-24-2014 09:38 AM

Golly mowing the yard if fun.

We want to hear the tale of how Beth stuck it to The Man.

un·con·scio·na·ble adjective \-ˈkän(t)-sh(ə-)nə-bəl\
: extremely bad, unfair, or wrong
: going far beyond what is usual or proper

Nephew called. My half sister's adopted kid. Half sister is 1/4 Cherokee. Nephew is a full blood Apache and has an addiction problem. I assume it involves alcohol. He usually calls me to ask for money when in trouble. Not sure why, I've never given him any. Asked if I would do something for him, then started hem hawing. Told him if he was having that much trouble asking me, was he sure he wanted to ask me. Talked to him for quite a while after that and he never asked me.

Called my Sister and he is currently having problems. His brother sent him tickets to check himself into a rehab center in Florida Tuesday. He is in Wisconsin. She says they are afraid he is going to cash out the tickets instead of getting help. This would be his fourth time to go to rehab.

Ain't family fun?

I hope Beth's day in court goes well Rick. Glad there's family about to support her while you're gone walkabout.

Happy Monday everyone. ;)

Porsche-poor 08-25-2014 07:02 AM

Home and awake. Spend 22 or 23 hours awake and slept really good last night.
Rick it only rained twice while we were there. The weather was great.

GH85Carrera 08-25-2014 08:13 AM

A buddy of mine was stationed in England back in the 80s. They had a two week period of clear skies and beautiful weather. He said after one week EVERYONE was sunburned. After two weeks people were peeling and in agony. They were all happy to see the normal weather return.

Well good news! They ACCEPTED our offer over anyone else. I guess when you are willing to pay your share of closing and pay for the needed inspections it looks good to the seller. I have the inspections scheduled, this thursday the pooper tank gets inspected and hydraulic load tested. Sept 3rd is the general inspection and termite inspection. Overall it is a very nice brick home and the seller already took it off the market, so I guess he is confident in the inspections which is a good sign. I am only concerned about the roof, it is a slate roof but looks to be a few cracked tiles and I am not sure the condition of the steel valleys at the dormers. My grandfather in-law took a look due to lots of experience with slate roofs. He assessed that it should only be about a max of $2k worth of repairs and maintenance, then it should last me another 100 years. Closing is expected for Oct 17th if not sooner.

Whoooop.

House I live in now submitted the offer on Friday the 13th to close on Halloween. Spooky, eh?

Congrats Andy!

Good news Andy. It is a scary moment at the closing when you start signing your name over and over and over and over and over when you realize you are committing to a mortgage. It is a great feeling as you see the balance go down and the equity go up. Not exactly instant gratification.
