Morning Y'all. I like the switch back to regular time, not that I had to get up today but it will be nicer tomorrow, I really detest DST

Jim Richards 11-02-2014 04:51 AM

I'm not a fan of the switching back and forth. I'd prefer it if we'd just stick to one or the other.

I hate daylight savings time. by the end of it I'm rooted.

We don't have daylight savings in the NT for normal people but our work hours are governed by the wallies over east. The bastards are an hour and a half in front of us and that means I've got to get out of the fart sack at 5:15am. :(

Mind you, I'm home at 4pm so there is an up side.

Rick V 11-02-2014 05:07 AM

Arizona doesn't play with the space/time continuum, nor does Hawaii

Outback Porsche 11-02-2014 05:17 AM

Only 17 more years and I'll tell them to stick their daylight savings right up their Khyber.

:D

(but who's counting ;))

Rick V 11-02-2014 05:34 AM

About 17 signatures and I will do the same

Yeah, I want the sun coming up at 4am and it to get dark at 7pm in the summer. They need to admit the time and rotation of the earth have changed from when they set the time in the first place and move everyone an hour forward and leave it.

Off to reset the time on the microwave, wall clocks, and cars. Thank goodness I no longer have a VCR!

GH85Carrera 11-02-2014 06:20 AM

Stijn!!

I love DST and I understand the logic of changing. I love having daylight until 9:00 PM in the summer.

Richard the time has not changed from the rotation, just location. It all makes sense if you live in Greenwich England. We don't.

The earth has only changed a few seconds and that is pretty unnoticeable to humans. They have a leap second added every few years to keep it accurate.

RKDinOKC 11-02-2014 06:29 AM

All I know is my new $70 Seiko watch runs about 3 minutes fast every day, the piece of junk. I was used to my other $800 watch being accurate and not having to fiddle with it. And the Seiko has Day/Date, so the date has to be bumped up on 30 day months. And when you bump the date, it also bumps the day so you have to go back and reset the day too. And the stem is so small it's a real hassle. Arg. But, hey, it looks good, that's all that matters, right?

GH85Carrera 11-02-2014 06:46 AM

Yea, my $70 Seiko sets itself every night at midnight and changes to DST and back automatically. It is 8 or 10 years old and works perfect.

RKDinOKC 11-02-2014 07:06 AM

This one is one of those autowinder watches. Had to get rid of the Casio Atomic Solar Powered watch I had. It made my wrist ache. Probably the atomics. :)

I would think there is an adjustment for the autowinder for fast/slow, but the time it gains doesn't seem very consistent.

watching yesterdays Rugby, USA and All Blacks, not that I have any thoughts that USA will win, but it is nice to see Rugby on normal TV free to air stuff.

RKDinOKC 11-02-2014 08:00 AM

I got this feeling the winner of the USA Grand Prix today has a high probability of being the one that gets to the checkered flag first.
