Good Thursday morning normal folks.
Good afternoon Jeff. :p Yesterday must have been goofy lawyer request day. We got a call from a lady that sounded fairly young and her favorite phrase was "fair enough" as she used that several times in a short conversation. The goof part is she was looking for an image from the late 50s or early 60s and she wanted to know if there was a yellow lines on the parking lot. I told her that we only had B&W film until about 10 years ago. We do have a few color shots in downtown and some for clients that were willing to pay extra for special flights. As far as pictures of a obscure trucking terminal none until 2003. Then she ordered two images from the early 1990s. Whatever, we were polite and happy to take her money. She did identify herself as an attorney at a firm with about dozen names that shall remain anonymous. Those firms seem to have two types. Either they will pay within 10 days or it will take 6 to 8 months to get our check. |
Tell her to bring a check or no pictures.

Well good news here, the septic tank and drain field passed inspection with flying colors. Just the general/termite inspection to get through yet.
|
So...You are good to go?....ha ha ha ha ha hah I crack me up.
|
If Andy goes with flying colors he is good to go!
|
hahahaha
|
My brother was curious as to just what is done to check a septic tank...It's not too full?
|
They check the baffles for the in and out, they scope the drain field to make sure it isn't clogged, and they do a hydraulic load test in this case, pump 500 gallons of water into the tank to make sure the drain field has proper drainage and doesn't come up into the grass. Then off course the pump it empty at the end of the testing.
|
Glad to hear it passed andy, and good that they pumped it empty for you too. I'd say plan on having it pumped every 3 years or so, and it will save you having to have an emergency call out. Trust me, thats never fun. ;) Ours never backed up, but I remember trying to take a shower and it just stopped draining...

One of the many advantages of city living. Real sewers. And trash pickup.
We have city water hooked up to the house and a water well for watering the yard. |
My folks have city trash service, but are on septic. If the system is done right you should only have to mess with it every few years, and the rest of the time, no sewer bill!
|
The sewer part of the water bill in just a few bucks a month. I don't have any idea what the septic tank folks charge to pump it out but It must be a couple hundred bucks. I do know they work just fine most of the time.

yawn. I think I finally caught up with work and now I'm bored.
Had fun this am. Came to work to find the building had lost a phase of power. Some of us were good to go others not so much. |
We have to have ours checked by state law every three years and if it is ever more than 1/3rd full it has to be pumped. We haven't had to have ours pumped yet and I would guess that it when the addition was added to the house it was sized for twice as many people that live there now.
Andy, congrats. Sounds like our house. Brick on 1.33 acres surrounded by farmland. We did 7 states in 7 days. In the car. With a 12 and a 4 year old. I hate motel beds. It was pretty interesting other than the hotels and the driving. Dayton, Erie, Niagara Falls. Pete, we saw a few of those types of mowers on our trip. First I had seen them. |
Evening from Columbus. As much as I detest this area and the thunderdome driving style I have to give the city credit, it is very very clean and well laid out. Someone actually took the time to do it the right way around here, I am somewhat impressed. Now having said thay I can not wait to join the mad dash tomorrow out of here. I miss my kitties
