Stress over the last test I have to take. I use one laptop for my test and another one logged into Subaru so I have complete access to all the information and the tests are not in line with the info. In other words one of them is wrong, so I take the test and when I fail it I print out the completed test I just took so I have my wrong correct answers, after a few hours I have all the wrong answers to correctly answer the test questions. They have a few hundred questions so it is a little tedious but it pays

What?

Just what is a wrong correct answer or a wrong answers to correctly answer?

The tests answers are wrong (typical subi issue) so I have do figure what wrong answer will give me the "correct" answer

That's pretty whacky, Rick. I'm sure you'll be happy to finish those tests.

Does Subaru expect their techs to perform the correct wrong maintenance on their customers' cars?

Do dah

Glen, that was 1991, there was barely public access to the internets. And only one web browser, it was called Mozilla then changed to Netscape. Access to Sabre Net was done via phone modem.

My dad worked on a project for the Air Force when we lived in Hawaii in 1969. Some general wanted to know where every single aircraft in the USAF was at any point and it's status. He could not even talk about it back then because it was a beyond top secret project.

It started as a project just to keep track of every aircraft in PACAF the Pacific fleet. My dad said one day they noticed a large percentage of the forces moving toward North Vietnam. The 4 star general down the hall had said he wanted to know if any unusual movements showed up. Protocol is to go up the chain of command before talking to the general. Dad walked right past a lot of superior officers to show the general the report which were the general's orders.

It was the attempted rescue of the POWs in North Vietnam. The prisoners had been moved just hours before so we missed them.

No one except the President, and the Joint Chiefs at the Pentagon and that one General knew what was going on. Dad said that general aged several years in just a week from the stress.

We have a training and certification system at Kimray. Every employee has to go thru some kind of training/orientation. I bet it is just like the Subaru training, those that setup the system are skilled at training and certification, but not the actual subject matter they are training.

Attended a conference put on by the company that made the software I use to do animation. At that conference I met a lady that did computer training programs. She told me about a client that operated a call center that took hotel reservations for most of the hotel chains. They had a very high turnover rate and wanted a computer program to train new employees. She found the reservation system was designed for airline reservations and not hotels, probably the text based screens for the Sabre Net system. She offered to either do a training program for $10K or if they gave her complete control of the software interface of the reservation program and 10% of their increased profits over the next year she would make it so they didn't need a training program.

All she did was edit the reservation software so it prompted the phone people for what to say and gave options for the answers they might receive, ie. customized the software for hotel reservations. It not only eliminated the need to train anyone, they could replace phone techs with cheaper less experienced people and it reduced the employee turnover rate and reduced the reservation errors. Her 10% of the increased profits over the next year was $10 million dollars!

Before that she made interactive safety training for off shore workers to replace safety videos workers were required to watch before each time before going off shore. Workers were sleeping thru the videos and the interactive computer safety program at least kept them awake and insured they were paying some attention to the materials.

This was from our previous in-service training online. I thought the answer was reasonable.

That can be tricky. A buddy of mine that I used to work with is now a house painter. We hired him to come texture our walls where we took down wallpaper. He did a great match to the other walls that were already textured. He looked at the old old texture and knew just what technique to use to match it. That only comes from experience and practice.

Funny you should mention drywall patching, Sid. Pelican look 171 and his crew were at my SoCal house chasing down an electrical problem and they cut a bunch of holes in my drywall to trace out the wiring. I'll be patching them (my choice to do it) back up next time we're out there. I guess I need the practice.

Perfect Jim, you can practice on Sid's wall so you will be old hat when you do yours.
