Thanks, Dave. I started with some 80-proof Scotch and who-knows-whats-in-it Limoncello, 'cause that's what was available in my cupboard.

Illegal in some states, but not here!! We're supposed to get pounded tomorrow. Let's see how much they collect overnight and if anything meaningful, I'll make a few more.... Not for drinking, but for the plants! It will get dry here again soon.

Very early good morning this morning.

Early enough to have a big breakfast ready for the sparrows. Feels like I should be going fishing or hunting or something like that.

It's .... FRIDAY!!!

Sorry to hear about the rough day doc! That's why I quit the corporate world. I was spending 8 hours a day banging my head against a wall. Just not worth it.

Oh, and if you keep doing shots keep some fireball around. It's $24 a liter and good for shooting.

Have to admit I've stopped at the liquor store on the way home from work more than once that wasn't a Friday. Have to admit it's much better working from home. Still have to deal with stupid though, but at least it's at a distance and am not involved in the daily political gossip power struggle management crap. A lot easier to laugh and go on.

If corporate America wants mindless drones, why don't they legalize pot?

Found out the 4 day work week was suggested by a worker and was instituted by a majority vote polling the workers involved. Studied Industrial Engineering in College and there are many studies that show more than 8 hours a day and people start making more mistakes, product quality goes down, and injury rate goes up. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts and if they are aware enough to see the results.

Good Friday morning folks! TGIF

I have always worked for small family owned business. Never any corporate politics. If I have a question or problem I know who to talk to. Family owned and managed businesses have a totally different set of problems, but the corporate layers of management is not one of them.

I got my MILs computer put together yesterday. It had right at 200 updates from Microsoft. Now I just need to load some software.

I need to figure out how to make it look and operate as much like Win XP as possible. That will induce the fewest problems for her. Although if I get the remote software running right it should not matter to her what the OS is.

Win7 is not too bad and does have nice remote access. Don't know about 8, haven't monkeyed with it much. Little that I have compared to XP 8 is very confusing.

Morning Y'all,
8 is great if you are using it on a phone or touch screen device, but on a regular computer, it is a damn joke.

I have to say Windows 8 sucks. 8.1 sucks less.

Rick, I have been to NC, Virginia, DC. The winters aren't so bad compared to here, but yeah, it gets a bit thick there. Here too, but not very often. The first trip my wife came back to visit Wisconsin with me it was 104* and 97% humidity.

Usually burning wood dries the air out pretty good. My uncle used to heat his house with wood in his fireplace along with heating his hot water tank. He went through 14 glass doors before the company told him they wouldn't replace them any longer even though they were lifetime guarantee. It did keep the house warm, about 90*. Made it real tough to sleep there during hunting season.

We have a gas insert in our SoCal house's fireplace. I looks and works great. But then, how much need is there for a fireplace in SoCal.

Well, Glen said he wanted it to be like XP, 8 or 8.1 is nothing like XP. Assume it is due to MIL training.

I am one of the few but I like Vista, to me it is XP-easy.

And yes Max in some places it is against the law to collect rainwater. Here in Charlottesville people are actually taxed for the rain water runoff that they have. The more property you have the more the tax is, because the rain, that you have no control over, runs onto city property and into the city storm drains. Yes they tax the rain here

Rick, his was all integrated into the fireplace with the pluming for water and everything and the big blowers above the mantle.

Vista had some bugs that were fixed in 7. Those aren't bad. 8 would be a shock for Glen's mom.

Rick, if you landscaped so that you collected all the rainwater for your garden for growing I don't know, rice, would you still get taxed?

Yea, my mother-in-law in law would melt down with Win8.

I am downloading the BIOS updates now. I want to get that all updated and I will let the computer run all weekend. The remote software is installed and tested. I will see if I can get to it from my home computer.
