LOL!
I remember my dad had a "mobile phone" in the car in the End of the 70s/B 80s, a phone with a rotary dial.
He had to "call" the company and tell them in which quadrant he was so that they could call him.

About cutting the finger to the bone.
BTDT, built a glassroof for the veranda and wanted to do that famous last little cut with the handsaw before joining dinner. Cut my index finger badly. Went in to hold it under cold water until the doctor arrives (could not help me, had to go to hospital) and my wife and son (10 at that time) nearly fainted by my vocal description of the accident. My daughter (8) on the other hand wanted to see everything in detail.

My daughter used to love when I got stitches because I would let her take them out

Woah!
I have not suggested that yet, but my daughter also would do that without hesitation I think!

Yeah Fint. I am disappointed but not discouraged. I think today, maybe I may just ease my pain with a new spoon. I am gonna go kick some tires, although I already know what I want

1989 huh? The last time I was on my boards was Colorado, 1985. My knee was already too far gone to continue.

2006 was the last time I was on a board.

I'll probably have a crack at both boarding and skiing this time, and stick with the one that hurts my ankles the least.

I remember one of the PCA members that had a fantastic 911 RS as his toy and his daily driver was a Mercedes 500 S class. He had a radio phone back in those days. He was a typical "oil-ie" land-man. He was making millions in the early 80s. He went to Federal prison in the 90s and was bankrupt.

My boss bought an early cell phone Motorola brick for a couple of grand in the days when every call was 25 cents a minute.

So yea they did exist but the average working person like me did not have one. I did not get one until AT&T finally had a deal for a "free phone" a $25 per month service plan and enough plan minutes to no have to pay the per minute costs. That was sometime in the late 1990s.

I remember the first time I saw a homeless person with a cell phone I knew cell phones were pretty much everywhere. Now the government thinks they are basic human necessity. I will stop there before I move into PARF territory.

Good Morning (I think)

It is a Monday.

I got in my car to go to work and Pandora had "upgraded" the app on my phone so it required a log in so I figured I would just have to listen to the 16 gig of music on the thumb-drive instead. I get to work and as I am trying to make coffee my phone goes nuts. I received a text, several emails and the phone was ringing. One call was my wife and before I could answer that it rang from another number I did not know. I talked to my wife and she is is meltdown mode. The garage door will not go down and the alarm was going off.

I told her to just pull the red handle and close the door. Nothing was working so I told her to just lock the door going into the house and I would come home and fix it. The other calls were from the alarm company. I got them calmed down and the cops called off.

I drove back home and closed the door and locked up everything, and armed the alarm. Back to work and finally got a cup of coffee.

War has been waged on mice in my garage, the 911 will not again become a mouse playground.

3 fatalities in 2 nights

Anyone know anything about fast electric R/C Boats?

I try HARD to keep any and all mouse food items locked up in plastic tubs and I keep a look out for droppings. I have three traps set in likely travel areas. It has been several years since I have seen any evidence on mice. I like it that way.

If I even a slight hint or idea that there might have been mice activity I bring our dachshunds out in the garage and see if they start trailing something. They are a good early warning system of possible critter infestation. Our previous dachshund was even a biological seek and destroy weapon with natural organic recycling of the former mouse. She would gobble them down whole and it was by by Mickey.

Our mice never used a fast or even a slow RC boat.
