Very cool project Dave! Can't wait to see how it turns out, and him playing it. That is my favorite part of BHTM concerts. He can make that lap steel sing!
|
Oh yeah, yours is a 944 not a 951 with the wider fenders.
|
Also tentatively heading to Red Rocks this June to see them and shoot them. That will be awesome!
|
That's an awesome show at an awesome venue! Pray it doesn't rain on you like it did us! Going to have the steel done in time to deliver it?
Be sure to stock up on locally legal supplies before the show. It was being used in abundance last year lol. |
The rain can't be worse than the two days I shot up in Washington. :D
There was plenty of pot in the air tonight as well! (wafting in from the outside). |
Morning Y'all,
|
Morning, Sunshine!
|
Howdy folks.
Hump day again. |
Figures............
I have been doing my research for a replacement for my .45 since it is about shot out and has become very finicky about what it will eat, and the top one on the list just made the top hand spoon to keep an eye on. So much for a decent price anymore. grrrrrrrrrr At least I know I am not the only one who thinks good things about it |
Rick, do you mind spilling what model spoon that would be?
If I were looking for a 9mm I think I would get a High Power. In .45 or 10mm I am looking at a 1911 series as they are about the only frame I have liked in a semi-auto but I have only shot a dozen or so. I would look at a .460 from S&W but I would only carry it 9 days out of the year and shoot about 4 rounds during that time. It would be a good brush gun though. We have about 4" of that white stuff that fell out if the sky and I won't have time to clear it until about 9:00 tonight. Maybe I should get the Cobra out and do donuts and use the side pipes to blow it all away! |
Well Mercedes went flop, the offer was a complete insult. I kind of expected that since it was the same parent company I just walked away from, Back to the bush shaking.
Brent I was looking at the Ruger SR1911 |

LOL at the turbo sticker.
|
It's a badge. And why lol? It's part of what different between the 944 and the turbo.
|
Badges add 10 hp, stickers only add 5.
|
Only 10, that's a Porsche turbo badge. It adds 30!

A 928 guy was selling all the parts it takes to put the 968 variocam on a 928, including heads and cams and actuators. Plus all his notes to get everything working and will help tune the car. The programing to operate the variocam is already in the 928 ECU. He ran it on his car for several years, 30K miles. It is one of the quickest 928s around. It is a low rpm power maker and he is building up his car for more top end power. He is also putting a 6 speed corvette transmission in it.
It is really amazing he was able to get the variocam setup working and making big power. It took him 3 years doing the build up and tuning. He also cemented the block to make it stronger and so he could bore it out from 5 to 6.2 liters without worrying about splitting the cylinders. A couple of guys have convinced him to donate everything to the 928 owners club for posterity or let them sell it to make the club some money. Says there is no way he could even come close to getting what it is worth out of the stuff. |
35 if you put it on a Chrysler Neon!
