Good morning folks.

We will be off to the PCA monthly breakfast soon. I suspect only a few folks will drive their Porsche. It is cloudy and the possibility of stuff falling out of the sky is elevated. Only the few that have a Porsche as their daily driver will drive one. Mine will stay clean and dry in the garage.

My road (and everything else) is white again already this morning

Oh boy, I get to wait for the social worker to come by and fill out the paperwork to get Mom enrolled in hospice.

i just fell off my chair.... pelican wants $280 for a throttle position switch....

Rick V 02-21-2015 08:20 AM

No comment at least not in public

nynor 02-21-2015 08:50 AM

apparently the TPS for the turbo is different than the other 944's.... why did i sell my '83?

they are $255 from 944 online.... sigh....

nynor 02-21-2015 11:25 AM

rick, i am about to attempt to clean the internals of the TPS. any tips, comments, etc.?

Rick V 02-21-2015 12:21 PM

Q-D cleaner and lots of if, that stuff is F-M

nynor 02-21-2015 12:47 PM

the issue is that the idle is often slow to drop back to idle RPM. i suppose it could be the idle valve, too. i was expecting a lot of blow-by oil in the TPS. there was none. in fact, the throttle body seemed pretty darn tight/sealed.

i see an intake removal in my near future. and paper towels. LOTS of paper towels.

Rick V 02-21-2015 12:49 PM

Live large, use actual shop rags

nynor 02-21-2015 12:51 PM

i think i'll just drape a surgical towel over the entire set of intake ports. much less likely to leave in place while installing the intake manifold.

Awe come on man, I gotta have my fun somehow

Another s&#@ day here. Perfect motivation to do taxes. Thankfully a little $ is coming back this year.

Rick V 02-21-2015 03:05 PM

We got eight inches of S before the sleet showed up and we are supposed to get rain later

Outback Porsche 02-21-2015 03:10 PM

I think we're hitting 37 before late thunderstorms. Don't know if I'll get a hit of golf in today or not.

Outback Porsche 02-21-2015 05:24 PM

Sheeeeeeet! The front yard is flooded and the point of origin appears to be the sprinkler solenoid pit.

Outback Porsche 02-21-2015 05:39 PM

Hmm, the inlet coupling to one solenoid has split. Bugger!

Jim Richards 02-21-2015 05:45 PM

s&$@ has morphed into freezing rain. Lovely. :(
