Sorry, watched Monte Python the other day. The witch scene has been stuck in my head.

Working for this company since 13 years old I have seen a lot of very unorthodox personnel placements.

Started working for the company taking care of the lawn. My dad would haul me and my lawn equipment to do the yard work until I was old enough to drive myself. When i could drive besides continuing to take care of the lawn i worked there part time. When away at college I worked part time in the summers. Started working full time in the machine shop after graduating in 1981.

It's too bad they didn't start my seniority until I started working full time. My years of service would be at 43 years instead of just 37 this May.

Hey Pete, how's the weather? How much snow did y'all get?

pete3799 03-14-2017 06:27 PM

Happy 25th to you and the Mrs.

Hard to tell it's still coming down big time. Been plowing since 11am and just now got home for a sandwich and a nap. Back at it at 1am.
I'd say around 18" on the ground as of now. Wind is really whipping it around. Visibility is quite poor.

supposed to get down to 34 tonight here...

Evening all.

Well cudos to the PP team, I ordered the clutxh kit on the 7th and it arrived today 15th, wow, that is fast considering it has been across the world and through the Sydney Customs Bond Store, (had to pay $383 ransom to get it out!).

Now to line up the mechanic for a couple of days free work to put it in.

RKDinOKC 03-15-2017 02:56 AM

Bought some new headlight assemblies for the Cayenne Turbo from the OEM Valeo in Spain. They were only $420 each vs $1200 each from Porsche. Had to send DHL another $120 to get them thru US Customs.

It's freezing outside. Supposed to get to 57°F today and in the 70's the rest of the week. And 89°F Monday! I can feel my electric bill climbing this month.

You guys are supposed to be going into spring!!

GH85Carrera 03-15-2017 05:19 AM

Yea, it is still winter and spring is just a few days away. I guess old man winter wanted to show he was still in charge. We will be in the 70s tomorrow and 80s this weekend and I am ready for shorts again. I hate being all dressed up in Jeans. Still no buttons on my shirt however! ;)

We actually took the Macan to dinner last night for our 25th anniversary dinner. It is up to 179 miles now. The Mrs is still trying to figure out all the controls. The computer runs everything of course. To set the seats, mirrors, and climate control, performance settings, and a host of other choices to be set to your preferences on your key takes some magic setting. Once everything is set you push the key button and have to shut it down and lock the car and it is supposed to remember it. We will get it figured out.

One thing for sure, I have the keys programmed perfectly on my 911. Never had a key battery failure or a power steering issue, ABS or traction control problems. They have been flawless after all the years.

Porsche-poor 03-15-2017 07:05 AM

morning all. warm and wet here for now.

flipper35 03-15-2017 08:59 AM

Joe, does it ever snow enough to be an issue there?

All of our snow has pretty much melted off, even thought it has been single digits in the mornings. Maybe 50* by Sunday.

Jim Richards 03-15-2017 10:47 AM

Thankfully snow is not an issue here. We did have thick fog for the past 4 days, but it's clear and sunny so far today.

Porsche-poor 03-15-2017 10:50 AM

hey I got one for you guys. The medical insurance thru work requires a 7 day wait from the time the doctor orders the MRI and you get one. Gee I only have to wait 5 days to but a hand gun here....

RKDinOKC 03-15-2017 11:11 AM

My guess is the odds are if you have a condition requiring an MRI it is cheaper to wait 7 days to see if you will go ahead and die versus any added expense caused by the 7 day wait.

Jim Richards 03-15-2017 11:13 AM

You can do a lot of damage with an MRI. Paper cuts when handled by inexperience people can be quite painful.

GH85Carrera 03-15-2017 11:55 AM

I have never had a MRI. I did get a CT scan once of my sinuses back in the early 1990s. When I went to the waiting room for the CT scan I looked around for a magazine. They had a National Geographic discussing the upcoming moon landing. It was a 1967 issue. The magazine was in good shape so I presume someone donated a collection from their parents house.

RKDinOKC 03-15-2017 12:03 PM

Now now, you know if an MRI were painful the INS companies would want it done same day.

My brother had an MRI done for his back at the VA. Before they actually read it and scheduled an appointment (2 months) the got a Perforated Ulcer from the pain killers they gave him and had to have an emergency operation to stop his stomach leaking. AND the stress of the operation caused his MS to get worse. Yeah, we want socialized medicine for sure eh?
