RKDinOKC 01-19-2015 12:01 PM

We liked it. For sure not a feel good happy movie. Reality sometimes sucks.

Hollywood made some things a little easier to swallow..... But for the most part it was pretty technically accurate. One of the SEALs actually played himself in the movie and doubled as technical advisor.

Na, total less than 200 bananas.

Pelican stuff takes an average of three weeks to get to me. It's normally in the country in four days, the rest of it is taken by our efficient postal service.

GH85Carrera 01-19-2015 12:23 PM

I have watched a few TV shows about SEALS & Ranger training. American Sniper and the TV shows is as close as I want to get to that sort of training.

Rick V 01-19-2015 01:21 PM

I would love to go through sniper training, Not the gilley suit hiding and skull crawl stuff but the scope tech stuff. It is astounding the amount of calculus those guys deal with.
My interview went well now it is a money thing

GH85Carrera 01-19-2015 01:40 PM

Cool, a real job again.

I am curious. The average Mercedes client I am guessing is a higher up the income level than Subie drivers. Do you figure you will see cleaner cars? Over on Garage Journal there is a thread called something like "you won't believe the cars I work on" and some of the vehicles are just beyond crazy with the interior crammed full to the roof with just garbage. Suspension parts held together with zip ties and other horrors. Does the average Mercedes driver keep them in better shape than average "other" car or are they just as bad?

Rick V 01-19-2015 01:49 PM

Most Mercedes are kept clean, the exception is the M class driver and the nanny wagons. I think Beths is one of the sloppiest ones around here, pisses me off but I don't drive it much so I really can't ***** too much about it, although Peggy is cleaner, just sayin'

GH85Carrera 01-19-2015 01:52 PM

Good luck with the new place.

Rick V 01-19-2015 01:57 PM

I haven't gotten it yet, but thanks

GH85Carrera 01-19-2015 02:07 PM

The Garage Journal Board

This is the thread on GJ. Some amazing stuff.

azzarule 01-19-2015 05:13 PM

so I does the Merc workshop have nice heating and descent coffee? I would like to know if I take in an expensive european car that the guys who are working on my car are "happy little vegemites as bright as bright can be!"

Jeff will get that!
