I noticed the drag chute...

Several years ago when was driving the white 88 Trubo S was flippin thru the channels and stop on a shopping channel. They were selling parts of the Budwiser top a fuel dragster. The cute was available for $200. Almost bought it because I thought it would be fun to pull the chute as I finished an autocross lap.

P1 1200 lbs lighter than your 911, wow that's one heavy 911. They said the 918 was 3000 lbs and the P1 was 300 lbs lighter. Heck, my 928 GTS is 3300 lbs and they are considered heavy.

flipper35 04-16-2015 09:30 AM

I have to admit I like the sound of the P1 better. I need another 250hp to be in the same power/weight ratio.

Chamber weather here today and I am stuck inside all day and doing some flooring this evening.

I was going to start a blog but figured it wouldn't be very interesting. Mostly it would say people suck. Especially at driving. Dude pulls out in front of me on a 4 lane frontage road so I move left since I will be turning left in a bit anyway. He then pulls into the left lane so I still have to slam on the brakes. 50' down the road he makes a right turn. Maybe I need a dashcam and post video of the toy phalus with ears of the week or something.

I was wishing I had video of a recent moron driver. A new driver kid (I am guessing 16 or 17 years old) in the neighborhood north of our neighborhood has a bright red Ford pick-em-up. He went to the JC Whitney catalog and bought every bit of add on junk sold on the planet and stuck them on the pickup. I did not know it was possible to make a Ford pickup a ricer but he has broken through to the other side.

Anyway he has zero respect for right of way and on more than one occasion he felt the need to pull right out in front of me rather than wait a few seconds for the road to be clear. The other day he looked right at me as I was going down the main road and he jumped out into traffic. Once again I had to hit the brakes to avoid him. The part that made me wish for a video was he did not look in the other direction at the traffic and did not see the large delivery truck coming. Unfortunately for Darwin the truck driver was alert and managed to avoid the moron.

He will soon total the pickup and put it out of it's misery and shame. I am guessing he never had any real driving instructions.

Sounds like a typical day driving in DC. We have an unbelievable number of morons on our streets.

And even more up in the large white buildings of the capitol and other assorted government buildings.

flipper35 04-16-2015 10:26 AM

Jim, I can't imagine how bad it would be if every one of the members of congress drove themselves all the time.

Jim Richards 04-16-2015 10:41 AM

That would only add 535 potentially crappy drivers to the mix. A drop in the bucket compared to the many thousands of 3rd world cabbies and close-in MD suburbanite drivers on our streets.*

*Disclaimer: We have lots of great MD drivers here, too. But the bad ones...oh boy!

The new fuse box came.....installed it and a fresh battery in about 45 minutes. Disconnected the blower relay and everything seems good to go...

Jim Richards 04-16-2015 10:53 AM

Don't park next to your house!

Did it come with a case of that Lucas smoke to inject into the wires?

Two cases!

And when I bought the new battery, I picked up an extra fire extinguisher.....

RKDinOKC 04-16-2015 12:11 PM

When in HS my car caught on fire while driving, the bright young kid I was I pulled into a gas station.

Walked in and all the attendants were sitting around eating lunch. Pointed out there was a car with smoke and flames boiling out from under the hood out by their pumps. Only then did they get real excited about getting the extinguisher and putting it out.

If I hadn't parked by the pumps, I'm sure they would have let it burn.

Oh Haha 04-16-2015 01:00 PM

Gentlemen(with a nod).

The 'maro is almost ready for some smoky burnouts. The sparkplugs were fouled big time so we got new ones but FIL had an auction to attend so we stopped working after lunch(venison burgers!).

I fabricated a kickdown linkage bracket for the transmission this morning. Ok, that should really say I hacked the crap out of the stock part to make it work. :D

woohoo!

flipper35 04-16-2015 01:12 PM

Isn't that the true redneck spirit to go with the Camaro?

RKDinOKC 04-16-2015 03:10 PM

If you drive a camaro aren't you supposed to live with your parents or in an appartment, like trans am drivers live in trailer parks?

RKDinOKC 04-16-2015 03:16 PM

Is this from some kind of Power Rangers movie I don't know about?
