I should post my video of my lap around Laguna Seca. It would be about that fast except there was always traffic in the way. Wow, my nose just grew. It is cool to see triple digits out of those cars coming into turn 5. I was red-line in 3rd when I did it just right which is about 90 for my 30 year old car. I would love to have a driver like him drive my car and show me just what it can do around that track. I was very careful since I had to drive it home to Oklahoma and I was the one paying the bill for any damage. The best car won that test! |
70 and sunny here today!! BOOYAH!

Good Thursday morning folks.
We get a few hours os sunshine and then back to clouds. They keep predicting rain, but it just can't seem to do more than get things damp. Hopefully Ds Salt Lake City storm will bring us some liquid moisture. |

For sure if Ferrari is willing to sell a car for the public to drive on public roads they should not have a problem with a customer letting anyone that car owner wants to drive the car in any legal way he feels like. To tell a customer nope, you can't allow a head to head test of your personal car against the cars that might beat it is just chicken chit. |
Well, good or not it is morning somewhere. BACON!!!
|
Mclaren sent a whole team to make sure their car was as fast as possible. Porsche just sent a car, and that's all they needed to do.
Ferrari does not sell their cars to the public. They pic and choose who can buy their cars. |

I think the comment that Ferrari Refused to grant permission for hot laps and data acquisition to the owner of the car. Wtf? You pay a million plus for a car and they tell you who you can let drive it? I wokdnt be a good Ferrari owner, is tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine.

What happens if you want to sell your million dollar car. Do they dictate that as well?
|
Yep. One reason they restrict the sale of the rare ones like the La Ferrari is they want to control the market for resale. If they found out you flipped one for a profit you are never going to get a new one again. They do try to control the secondary market.

Re the 918 v P1 video....
I love my 911...but I am P1 all the way. The thing is a masterpiece of lunacy...Porsche can keep their refinement nonsense, I prefer a lightweight analog machine that's trying to kill me. Makes for much better experience. |
Porsche has always been the car an amateur could drive closer to the lap times of a professional than other cars. Ferrari was considered to opposite end of that ease to drive fast scale.
Probably why so many died in the Carrera GT. |

add 300hp to your (our for that matter) 911 then we're talkin :)
|
I would need to add 700 HP to catch up. I can't imagine a 900 HP 911. Whoo Hooo.
|
I'd give my left nut... But I'd need both to keep it to the wood!!! (Yes, I'm this nuts)
