Yep, and the construction will be a muddy mess on the road for a long while. Yet ANOTHER church is being built on the corner of Kelly & Britton so that will be a mess during construction. More offices are being built east of Kelly & Britton. All this building and construction is just a pain. Get off my lawn!

The good news is someday soon they should be done with the Hefner Road project and that will be a nice smooth wide road. I may have to change my route and go that way. Get off my lawn again!

We [engineers] appreciate the effort. :D

Wouldn't you love this, Glen?

I know you would be retired, but is LA any better? Last time we were in LA we went from La Brea/Page Museum to El Centro which is 220 miles. It took 7 hours.

Had I read up on the thread prior to our visit I would have loved to meet some of you LA guys. We were in town a few days.

Porsche-poor 07-29-2015 09:21 AM

I make no effort. I just cut them off from the CAD and the network.......

Jim Richards 07-29-2015 09:24 AM

We'll be half-way between LA and San Diego, close to the coast. From our experience, getting around isn't that hard. More traffic than Glen described, but, from what we've seen so far, we can usually move around easier than here in DC, especially if my wife and I are together in the car. We can use the carpool lanes.

That area isn't too bad. Made the trip between SA and LA a few times but usually to the southern part of LA to the convention center but a couple of times to the hell in Anaheim.

Jim Richards 07-29-2015 09:32 AM

The I-5 through Anaheim blows.

oh the ominous click of death!!!!

I will dig out a picture I shot of part of my commute. It is a two mile stretch of rolling hills and lined with trees and bushes. The few houses are way back from the road and most all are many acres. One of them is 80 acres, one is "only" 40 acres and still classified as farmland. Most are just 5 or 6 acres. The very opposite of the photo Jim posted.

Porsche-poor 07-29-2015 10:19 AM

I looked it up 5.03 miles one way to work.

Oh Haha 07-29-2015 11:44 AM

When I was a vending driver my commute was 87 miles ONE way. It took exactly 1 hour and 5 minutes to get to work in the morning in good conditions. I did this for a year or so until I took a job in management.

We're getting a good frog strangler right now.

Must be ours from yesterday, energized by the lake?

Yep. Storms seem to gain strength coming across Lake Michigan. Most times they weaken by time they get to Mid Michigan but if conditions are right they get stronger.

I see the Marines are moving from the M16 to the M4.

What? They are going down 12 sizes? They need to go UP! We used to get M80s and those are great!
