Mine is 16 miles one way.

I'm not sure how long mine is but I only have two stop signs and three lights to get through.

This guy was awesome. As soon as the pictures were done our 5 year old wanted to sit and compare weapons.

Brent, sid you shoot those at Oshkosh?

Our pilot had a great time. He has gone dozens of times over the years and he said this is the first time the weather was great all week. No rain or storms. He managed to get out of there with just a new set of $1,000 headphones. He must have 6 sets of headphones already. He is a headphone junkie.

You should let the boy hang around with some grunts instead of an airman that missed the day covering 'positive control of a slung weapon at all times unless you're a medic'

flipper35 07-28-2015 11:43 AM

The only other option was some Marines and he talked with them as well. I thought you might have a comment.

Glen, these were from Oshkosh. We saw a red 206 take off Saturday after the afternoon show.

flipper35 07-28-2015 11:47 AM

The smoke was getting thick.

Marines are good to go.
Slung weapon handling errors are one of my biggest pet peeves. Likely that Airman was never instructed properly. Unlike some of the other AF MOS's that see combat, Security Forces doesn't get a lot of crossover training with other branches that could square them away.

I doubt you will ever see our pilot land there. He is a long time visitor. They learned long ago to land several miles away and rent a car. They stay at a motel several miles from the airport. He said landing or taking off there is a pain with all the traffic and shows. BTDT, has the t-shirt, does not want to mess with it again. He just prefers to land away from the mess and drive in.

I would say he had pretty light duty. His muzzle discipline was good.

Actually all the armed forces guys were really good and patient with him. He has lots of questions. He is also in awe of those guys.

It is a madhouse right after the show. I would never fly in since we are only a couple hours away. With the air traffic it is probably quicker to drive up.

This little guy was a modified B26.
