They are using a plane to basically launch another plane. There are guys that use rc planes to tow up rc gliders.

When I was into rocketry I had a glider that launched and the parachute charge fromthe engine would eject the engine and set the stabilizer and rudder to glide in a large circle instead of go straight up. The first time I launched it it went up perfectly. It arched over like it was supposed to, then it headed straight for the ground. Abput 2 feet off the ground the eject charge went off blasting the glider a foot into the ground. Turned out I had accidentally used an engine with too long of a eject delay.

My next glider rocket was called the Orbital Transport. It was a larger rocket that carried a smaller delta wing glider up. It would arch over, the glider would slide off and fly down and the rocket would pop a chute. It was cool, but when you launched it there were 2 things to chase down.

Just woke up and there was this weird facts show on TV. Seems Lysol was originally designed in the 20's as a vaginal douche for hygiene to stop odor. It was also used as cheap birth control with 50% effectiveness until the 60's when the pill came out. They say it burned and because it killed both good and bad bacteria sometimes caused more problems than it helped.

And Listerine was a general household cleaner. No wonder you rinse and spit!

It's strange how some items we know a one thing today started out with a completely different use.

Happy Hump Day.

Laptop malfunction.

I meant that it is odd how products that we use for one purpose today started being used for something totally different.

I built one similar from scratch, but it was a folded hang glider. Pretty cool when it worked. I built a lot of them from scratch. I built one where the engine mount ejected with a streamer instead of a nose cone popping out so there were no seams years before they were commercially available. I also blended all the fin joints and the straw for the launch rod.

Sid, that isn't a rocket plane, this is a rocket plane.

Good grief,

One of the largest aerial photo companies in the USA is a client of ours. We fly some small projects in this part of the country for them. We just fly it and expose the film. The processed film goes right to them. It is nothing that will make us rich but it is easy fill in work.

They ask for price quotes all the time and many jobs never happen, but most do. They just requested a price quote for a flight to happen in 2019! Aviation gas might be $20 per gallon and film could be gone forever by then. Oh well, we will give them an estimate based on current prices and no firm price guarantee.

Sounds typical for a big company.

Glen, that's why our quotes always said valid for xx days. Price of materials changes. When someone would ask me to guarantee the price wouldn't change, I'd tell them to cough up a check!

Been calling around and can't get anyone to come pull a couple of ethernet cables. Nobody will do residential. Both of the places I want cables run already have cables, they just need upgraded...arrgggh.

My wireless is faster than my wired, and that just ain't right.

Evening Y'all,
Had a little fun today, my boss spent a fair amount f time yesterday trying to buy a Fox Model B shotgun from a guy and they were haggling about the price. The guy said that no one would ever see a cleaner example of one, to which I busted out laughing and told him to come back tomorrow and see me (that would be today)
He put his tail between his legs when I pulled mine out of the case and laid it next to his. I just smiled and walked away.
