I still need to price out the repair kit. I am also going to look at aftermarket lumbar support pads...I can use them in the 964, too.

Hey Rick, when we finally bug out for points west, I'm planning on taking US29 south to swing by your area. We can't just leave without stopping by to say bye.

Morning Y'all,
Jim this time breakfast/lunch/dinner (whatever) is on me so tell Lu to keep her pen in her pocket, I am not taking no for an answer

Jim Richards 01-10-2016 08:24 AM

Hahaha! BTW, we'll have our attack schnauzer with us. I'll make sure to feed her before we meet up...just in case.

Happy birthday Rick! I saved a chunk of German pancake for you!

Don't remember ever putting that cone cold air box on mine, but do remember looking to see the stock air box was pulling air from the fender well. Honestly thought it would be a restriction versus pulling cold air. Think the Lindseys came up with a headlight cover with a naca air duct, but my personal opinion it was too far behind the high pressure front edge of the car to draw any air in at speed when you need it.

i put the cone right where the stock airbox lived. we'll see what happens when i run it in the summer.

RKDinOKC 01-10-2016 11:00 AM

Behind the intercooler and the radiator is warm air. Think that's why the suck it from the fender well.

nynor 01-10-2016 11:46 AM

yep, i get it. but, i think that air that is a little warmer is better than air that is unfiltered (broken airbox).

Rick V 01-10-2016 02:43 PM

There are ways to get cold air int that area. A louvered headlight cover will help when the lights are not on

RKDinOKC 01-10-2016 02:44 PM

Here is the Lindsey vented headlight cover and MAF trap is what they call the cone filter thing.

The white 88 TurboS they have pictures of all their junk on they bought from me.

When I had my 944 I was not overly impressed with Lindsey stuff but then again I left that car stock

RKDinOKC 01-10-2016 03:14 PM

Just know them from my Black 90 951 days.

One of the 928 guys made some nice custom cams for the 928 and used them for a little heavier than stock valve springs. That was the main reason I put the hotter stock 90 GT cams in my 94 GTS and not the special grinds. Could keep the stock springs and didn't have to get the springs from Lindsey.

Morning

I have a feeling the author was secretly watching me work ;)

I reckon there's also a chapter in there about paper towel usage, and another about how to not pick up women (I think that chapters titled 'punch yourself in the nuts'). :p

The crickets a bit boring tonight.

Jim Richards 01-11-2016 04:36 AM

I'm sleep-walking through work today. My body is still on Pacific time. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/sleep.gif What if it stays on that time zone until I retire? Hmmmmm. :D

Jeff, I think I need a copy of that book. A couple of my cars over the years could've been good case studies.

Good Morning all.

The wife and I went to a late night wild crazy head banging concert last night at least for us. (Actually it was Bluegrass style)

It started at 3:00 PM and went on for two hours. Then we WALKED all the way next door to eat. Phew. It was nearly 7:00 PM by the time we got home. We met 5 other couples long time friends. Fun night.

The band is:

MOUNTAIN SMOKE - Bio

They are a very talented group. One of the guitar players was regularly just closing his eyes, playing right along with a nice grin on his face. It was obvious he really loves to play.

It was a charity event for a local food pantry.

RKDinOKC 01-11-2016 06:04 AM

Mertnin...another week begins,,,oh my.
