Yes, thankfully our canine overlords allow us to share in the enjoyment of bacon.

Hey Pete, how is the 911 doing? Can you fix the current fender or is just it replacement time?

Fender and hood should be fixable. Having a hard time getting the new H4 to stay put. Headlight bucket got somewhat deformed.

I figured that I will be 50 next year and don't intend to have more kids.

Seriously, my wife has done the preventative maintenance thus far but those have caused her some health problems. Chicks already have enough to deal with so we decided to look at other options>>ME!

When I was cleaning up my 911 last weekend I pulled off one of the sugar scoop headlight rings to clean some really stuck in there bugs. The rubber gasket on the drivers side was broken. I had to glue it back together into a ring to get it to stay in place.

I had to hold my tongue to the left and stand on one foot and use a lot of body English to get the silly thing to stay in place. Once the rubber gasket would behave it was tricky to get the metal headlight ring to align and stay in place.

So I feel your pain. The headlights have be just right to stay connected and in place and still look right.

pete3799 07-08-2016 01:08 PM

Yup.....I took the other headlight off to get some measurements. Had trouble getting that one back on.

Just make sure someone is there to drive you home. Not because of the procedure, but the muscle relaxant they give. Trust me on this.

We went to Friday evening dinner as usual. Sitting in the restaurant my phone and several other people's phones all over the restaurant all started buzzing and squalling about a flash flood warning. I guess they want to give a lot of warning in the very remote possibility there is some flooding. We have had none at all.
We did get some nice rain. Hopefully we will get more.

RKDinOKC 07-08-2016 04:12 PM

Stupid flood warning woke me up. Had just dozed off. Nothing like dozing off on a cloudy afternoon with it lightly thundering.

My wife suggested her mother be the one.

I'll WALK home before that happens!!

RKDinOKC 07-08-2016 06:46 PM

You'll walk home...ha ha ha ha

More like wheelchair...and via an accessible van (no transferring) that rides like a Rolls Royce.

You can get Paul Newman's 79 935 Le Mans racer for only $4.5 million.
Came in 2nd in class at Le Mans and won 24 hrs Dayona.

Might be a little much for the local grocery store or the drive thru at Walgreens.
Might be just the thing to make a quick drive from OKC to Dallas for breakfast though.
Probably even make it home for lunch too.

Heat index peaked at 118 today...

I would've considered buying it if it wasn't red.

RKDinOKC 07-08-2016 09:35 PM

Yep, had a guards red 928. Got pulled over more driving it than any of my other cars. Twice on the same 10 mile jaunt and wasn't speeding or anything. They just couldn't help themselves. In their defense it had just been detailed the day before and was so shiny red it attracted attention.

I drove mine very slowly from storage to here back in March, other than that it's been a year and few months. :(

RKDinOKC 07-09-2016 12:52 AM

I have an excuse, the motor is on a stand beside it.

Shame shame. Just because you have another new job, two boys, a dog and Tweeze to take care of is no excuse. Drive it. I am gonna be sliding around at the track tomorrow. It will be a HOT time at the track.

GH85Carrera 07-09-2016 09:20 AM

Eating at a local Route 66 place called Pops. This is right above our table.
