The bigger is that the brake booster is toast, and I haven't found out for sure that's the only problem. Not thrilled to start throwing money at it right now. It's also still got a funny un diagnosed noise in the cam tower.

Just wear and eye patch and start throwing and anchor out when you want to stop!

If my 944 Turbo had survived Lindsey Racing I was planning to do vinyl flames on the front, a skull and crossbones on each door, a skull shifter knob, found a stereo amp to put in the back that looked like a skull and cross bones. Was even thinking about changing all the interior lights to red led. Since it needed paint really bad from all the stone chips, I was going to have some fun with it.

Even thought it would be hilarious to put a drag chute to hit at the end of an autocross lap.
Couldn't decide between checkered flag or black with skull and crossbones.

The reason we were at Pop's for lunch was some good friends live very close by. They had our new (Mrs Carrera's really) compost barrel. She has decided we "need" a compost barrel. I was "allowed" to put it together. It was hot outside doing that. We got up up at dawn to trim the hedges and it was already warm and humid.

Tomorrow is Autocross which is of course fun and 100% totally logical and reasonable and a real blast having fun sweating like a race horse. Much better than other ways of sweating like mowing the yard. Which I shall do today before since I might be pooped out after a day at the track. Golly mowing is fun. GOLLY.

That's cool that your wife let's you do fun projects like that.

My wife let me take down our bathroom wall cabinet and put up one that she brought home from her folks.

We are lucky men Glen!

I'm off to the hometown tomorrow again to help my sister weed her flowerbeds and my mom has a list of "to-dos" at her place. Seeing my friend's daughter sing again in the evening.

Got out at 6:30am this morning and took Pepper for a walk around the block. By the end of the walk she almost seemed leash trained, almost.

Another fun Autocross. We have such a nice track it is almost too much fun. How many other car makers ever produced a fun 30+ year old car that can be driven across the country and on then on the track.

Just got back from the hometown. Got my Mom's list completed and weeded my sister's garden with help from my other sister and her hubby. Had a nice dinner at the Irish pub where my friend's daughter was singing. Went with bangers and mash this time instead of their awesome fish and chips. Daughter ordered a steak but we brought most of it home.

A good day. It's just too bad it's an hour drive each way to go back there. I miss hanging with my friend.

Hey all!

Porsche-poor 07-11-2016 07:23 AM

Morning all. Lots of rain this weekend so no driving the 911. Maybe next weekend.

Isn't that normal for there?

Looking for tires again for the Cobra. The Goodyears and Hoosiers tramline pretty bad. Down to Mickey Thompson SR for a reasonable price but just OK tires, or Avon for a not so reasonable price but DOT race tires that don't tramline. Looks like the M/T are backordered as well.

RKDinOKC 07-11-2016 08:44 AM

It's a conspiracy! Tire manufacturers are trying to kill the performance car by not making tires worth a poot to fit them.

They just want everyone to go to 17 inch or bigger wheels. :(

flipper35 07-11-2016 10:27 AM

Yeah, I can find all kinds of 295 width performance tires if I up the rim size to 17" or larger. Not gonna happen as I like my Minilites in 15". They just look right on the car.

RKDinOKC 07-11-2016 11:02 AM

Hey, I got 18s for my 928 because the tire selection was much better than the stock 17s.

flipper35 07-11-2016 11:18 AM

Don't like this:

As much as this (though these are Halibrands):

I think the larger version looks great on that Cobra. The 15s certainly look period correct. I have to wonder how much better it would handle with the lower aspect ratio and modern radials, though.

Like we've told folks many, many times: It's YOUR car, do what you want to it.

Oh Haha 07-11-2016 11:28 AM

Took my son in for the evaluation today. He was only there a couple of hours but we have another series of tests in a few weeks and then we will get the results. Basically, they are trying to determine exactly what he has. I had to answer a bunch of questions on his behavior which we have done so many times already but these were pretty specific. We are hoping that we get a clearer picture of how to help him.

Just so you guys know, he is not like Rainman. To an outsider he seems to be a perfectly normal 12 year old boy.

Oh, and I get neutered in Sept.

It would be cheaper for sure to get the Avon and keep the 15" as opposed to spending $3k on rims to get other tires so I am getting 15" either way. THe M/T are less than half of the Avons. Though the Avons are incomparable on the track, the street tires should be fine. If I do more HPDE I will get the Avons for sure.

I hope the test go well to get things dialed in for him.
