I hate parades as well. I had to shoot picture of a lot of them and it is almost impossible to get a good parade photo unless you step into the street or get up in the air.

One of the protest parades I was photographing for the newspaper was the KKK had a march up to the capitol. The police protection outnumbered the kooks in the parade. The marched from the post office to the state capitol in Montgomery, AL on a HOT HOT HOT Sunday afternoon. There were only about two people watching and the media fools like I was. They got to the state capitol and stood in the back of a pickup and said what you would expect from idiots. They jumped in pickups and left. The cops all drove off and the press corps was standing there on foot with no cars since we walked along. In Alabama on a Sunday booze was not for sale legally. We all went with one of the senior members of the press corps to a small door with no identification on it. It was very close to the state capitol, and the door opened and it was a full open bar owned by the brother of Governor Wallace. We all had some drinks and cooled off. Then we walked back to our cars.

If they ever had a parade for Free the Boobies, would probably attend.

Well, as long as there isn't a cover charge. Then it's just a titty bar.

I could just see the parade now.....followed by a bunch of old bats slapping the guys silly.

Or the slapping something else.

Actually there would be lots police and paddy wagons arresting them because in most cities the city gets $1,250 each boobie in fines for showing a nipple in public.

Almost blew hot coffee through my nose when I saw this post. We were at a donut shop and I couldn't post my reply on my phone at the time.

Phew.

Mrs Carrera decided we needed another hole dug. Of course that just means I get to dig a hole. The only issue was that it was within 12 inches of the tree we cut down. One root was the size of my leg and several were the size of my arm. What a pain to dig hole. Next time we should dig a hole in the sidewalk. That would be easier.

It is supposed to rain a lot this weekend so I had to mow after swinging a pick axe. I got the yard edged and went to fire the mower. It had no spark. That means take the entire top of the mower apart to get to the module. That took an hour and because I am a very modest genius I had ordered one and had it ready. They seem to last 6 or 7 years. My mower is 23 years old. This is the module I am doing. I think I will get a new mower this winter.

Swinging the pick axe was so much fun I ended up with a blister on my middle finger. Ouch.

Morning all.

On Friday the weatherman was saying heavy rain all weekend. So far we have less than a 1/2 inch and the weatherman said some computer models showed us getting 7 inches. Not likely.

Today is supposed to be beautiful here.

I cut most of the in-laws lawn yesterday. Today, my son and I will finish up behind the pole barn.
Nothing else going on but I might throw some steaks on the grill for supper.

It is nice and cool outside. 66 and overcast. Not much rain yet.

I was pretty sure before, and absolutely positive now, I don't want to be a miner. Swinging the pickax yesterday has left me kinda sore. The worst is my left leg. I use my left leg as a pivot to swing the pickax and from my butt to my ankle my left leg is sore. My back is just a little sore. I guess if I did mining as a job I would be a lot stronger, but I prefer to use a computer and my mouse finger in an air conditioned building.
