Wow, I bet some heads exploded at PCA national.

As I remember parade was supposed to be held at Jay Peak before but the parking lot debacle caused PCA to move it. Now that little hiccup. Hopefully if the folks in the indictment have real problems they can hire a receiver to keep the the place operating.

Aw shucks,

We received a check from a local mega law firm that referenced one of our invoices but it was a few hundred MORE than the invoice and it was for a job that was not theirs. I called their accounts payable department and at first she was convinced she had not made a mistake. I asked if we could keep the extra for our beer and pizza fund and she did actually laugh. I emailed her a copy of the invoice and I heard lots of typing on her end. It turns out she was supposed to send the check to the company that we did the job for plus their markup. Then she wanted me to mail the check back to her. I told her it was real easy to shred it and she agreed. I wanted to ask who would be dumb enough to try to rip off one of the top law firms in the state. They have a dozen interns that would love to get a case where some little firm kept $1,200.

Heck I called her! We could have cashed it and kept it form months or longer before they tracked down what happened. Now if it had been for 1.2 million......... :p

GH85Carrera 04-15-2016 05:20 AM

Sorry Jeff, I will be on my 5,000 mile ( maybe longer) road trip in June. I am going to see Pete, and some other points of interest way up north in the land of Yankees.

Whoo Hooo, it is Friday. See Jim, you never get to have the excitement of a Friday again. See what you are missing! You should get a job just to enjoy a Friday! Yea, that's the ticket, sure get a job to enjoy Fridays again. Genius!

I'm Awake...
Pepper woke me up by saying Hello...
It's light out...
After stretching no major aches or pains...
Can breath unaided...
No noticeably unpleasant out of place odors...
Can see pretty good out of at least one eye...

Good morning!

Hope everyone else is having and upbeat day.

Off to find something for breakfast.
Got the fixins for a pulled pork omlete, but probably laze out an just pour bowl of cereal instead.

Good morning!

All good things.

I remember a talk by a scientist and he was discussing some of the laws of physics. Of course gravity is a law, not a suggestion. He pointed out how good that is. Imaging getting out of bed and not knowing if your foot is going to the floor or to the ceiling. So far every single time I got out of bed my foot has gone to the floor. I have awakened on the floor before but never on the ceiling. I learned long long ago that too much alcohol can cause one to awaken on the floor. I have not done that since I was in my early 20s. Ain't gonna do that again.

Oh Haha 04-15-2016 05:52 AM

Yep, Friday doesn't have the same "WOW!" factor when you don't work.

We are scheduled for a perfect day and weekend.Full sun and close to 70 degrees.

Guess I'll have to get my a$$ out of the house and work in the yard. Hopefully, wifey will not have to work the weekend.

So Wayne, is the snow gone yet?

RKDinOKC 04-15-2016 06:00 AM

Oh yeah, It's April 15th and I've already done my taxes and turned em in.

Refund was bogus, had to pay Federal almost the same amount I got from State. Makes me think they are in cahoots. Need to figure out the changes by not claiming Mom as a dependent and add that to my withholding so I don't end up with a big tax bill next April.

Found it interesting that my working from home took more off my taxable income than last year, but the taxes went up enough that the results were almost exactly the same as last year.

Yes, we got a few inches last week but it didn't stay long. I think we are over the hump for cold weather now.

GH85Carrera 04-15-2016 07:03 AM

Happy Emancipation Day. The IRS is closed so we have until the 18th to get the taxes in. I guess any excuse possible to have the IRS offices closed is a good excuse.

I did my taxes earlier in the month. I did them with Turbo Tax once again. I have been doing them with Turbo Tax since the days of 5.25 inch floppies. For a couple of years one of my wife's good friends was a CPA and the comptroller at Sonic. She would do our taxes for the the same price as the cost of Turbo Tax. It was a no brainer for me, let a real CPA do the taxes and spend the same amount. She used Turbo Tax professional and did a lot of people's taxes as a extra income thing. I remember I had handed her my previous year tax file on Turbo on the new fangled 3.5 inch floppy. After several years she retired. She handed back a new floppy and I carried on doing myself.

morning all. TGIF!!!! I get to scare the hell out of the structural engineer today, should be fun. Back to the 120' pole thing turns out we have to lift them straight up without the use of a support frame above them. So that means 16 posts 8 on each side with a wench type arrangement on top to lift a total of 160,000 pounds. He is going to have puppies!

Jferr006 04-15-2016 07:19 AM

I've been meaning to check in here for ...like 2 years. I sat in a Porsche last night so it just feels like the right time to say Hi.

Porsche-poor 04-15-2016 07:24 AM
