I still have leaves to rake on the weekends for the next month till the tree drops them all.

flipper35 10-21-2020 02:11 PM

I just mulch ours. We do have a rake for behind the tractor though.

Glen, while having a shopping cart zip tied to my door handle would not make me happy I always have a knife clipped to my belt so it would slow my down but only a few seconds. Now really piss them off but doing the passenger door so it rolls with you.

flipper35 10-23-2020 01:08 PM

I usually have one in my pocket or on my belt as well.

GH85Carrera 10-23-2020 01:14 PM

I always have a knife, so it would not slow me down much.

I am sure glad this site is back up. I was in heavy withdraw. Jay Leno's Garage was enough to get me through the experience.

I kinda understand the concept of tipping at a restaurant, particularly in this time of Covid. But it also irks me that I placed an order for takeout, and the online program not only made the tip mandatory, but only gave me choices of 15/20/25 percent. Given that over half of my online takeout orders get screwed up (I never get an extra salad or fries--it's always something gets omitted), I find the mandatory tip a bit entitled. Not going back to that restaurant again.

Long day for us. We got up over an hour earlier than normal, met up with friends and went to Krebs, OK for some great Italian food.

Then we went to Robber’s Cave State park. It is a cave where Jessie James and many other crooks hid out back when Oklahoma was not yet a state and just a no man’s land.

I will post photos later.

It was a 400+ mile drive and I rolled 177,000 miles today.

I wanna see pics!

I've changed my mind a little bit regarding my rant two posts above. I wound up going to that restaurant to pick up sandwiches for lunch anyway, earlier today. I just ordered there in person, instead of online. The employees were all super friendly, which was nice. I don't mind giving a tip if service is even halfway decent (and they were beyond decent today). I'll just order in person in the future.

Did the annual wash on the 911s today. I think the last time I washed the 930 was in December, before the Radwood show. And the only time for the targa was after I bought it, in January or February. My daughter (I think it was she) wrote "wash me" on the back of one of the cars. Shamed me into it.

Noah930 10-25-2020 10:11 AM

With the 911 washed, I stopped by a new (to me) Cars and Coffee gathering. Wow, even after all these years (decades!) the F40 is staggeringly beautiful.

On the way up to Robber's cave. There is a 1/2 mile walk or so, and very steep. The WPA came in back in the 1930s and put in walkways and stairs to make it safer for the visitors. This is one passage up that was likely a good ambush spot.

This is the main cave. The boulder on the left is pretty smooth, and the kids were having a good time sliding down the slope and wearing one jeans.

It does not go back in very far, and evidently the WPA folks collapsed down the very back of the cavern to keep people from exploring or looking for treasures. It is blocked off now.

This is off to the left side of the cave as you look out of the cave. No one was going to sneak up on you, and the overlook was very open and no one could sneak up on someone in the cave. I sure would not want to spend the night in there. It would be dry and protected from weather, but better than out in the open.

Just search for Robber's Cave park and it will find lots of images that are not full of random people, and some real history. Interesting place.

I have heard about it for all the time I have been in Oklahoma. It was almost overrun with people, and the parking was tight and still cost me 8 bucks.

Went to Mahogany steak house last night. Pretty fancy $99 for one of those Wagyu Japanese sreaks. Just had an aged NYStrip it was good but still expensive. Glad I didn't pay.

GH85Carrera 10-26-2020 06:16 AM

I a friend that went to Mahogany Steakhouse with his wife because someone had given them a $200 gift card to the place. He said it still cost him almost 50 bucks to get out of there. $250 for two people is insane, especially for a steak.

We go to Charleston's and they have the best prime rib I have ever had anywhere. It is wonderful, but I can spend "just" $85 for the two of us. It is easy to spend that at other high end restaurants even on Italian food. I usually spend $40 to $60 for a Friday night date night meal.

It is a rainy Monday Morning, half an inch of rain ans 33 degrees. Likely to be some crappy weather today and most of the week.

Porsche-poor 10-26-2020 06:59 AM

Morning all. Its cold here at 36. I think fall and winter have arrived.

GH85Carrera 10-26-2020 07:15 AM

Yea, them dang Canadians sent down a bunch of their air on vacation. Canadian humans can't cross the border now for vacation, yet we let that cold air come in.

It is still raining, and supposed to get to freezing sometime later this afternoon. Sleet and and freezing rain. Gonna be fun on the roads. I will just stay home.

Porsche-poor 10-26-2020 07:40 AM

if the commute home is icy you have real problems.

GH85Carrera 10-26-2020 08:00 AM

Fer sure. We have had over an inch of rain so far. It is just now 32 degrees. I managed to break a tooth this weekend. It does not hurt as it has had a root canal, but I need a temp crown on it, and that will be fun on the road today getting there and back home.

I will make an appointment later to do the mold and the crown. There goes several hundred bucks.

RKDinOKC 10-26-2020 08:22 AM

Friend came to visit from Austin and insisted on eating at Mohogany. Think he looked it up on the net. Thankfully he also insisted on paying. $99 seems a bit high, even for Wagyu. He also got a bottle of wine. Am sure it was not cheap either.
Think he is adjusting to recently inheriting a huge amount from his parents.

I like Texas Roadhouse, with the hot dinner rolls. I'm a sucker for good bread.

To me, the F40 was the last proper Ferrari. Well that and the 288GTO.

GH85Carrera 10-26-2020 10:18 AM

Got back from the dentist. All fixed up for now. The roads were just wet since the ground is still fairly warm. The ice is accumulating on the trees and the grass. Even the overpasses and bridges were just wet. That will not last long. I am glad I don't have to do a 5:00 PM commute and tomorrow morning is gonna suck for the drivers. It is nice to work from home now days.

flipper35 10-26-2020 10:20 AM

We had a light dusting of snow last night. I suppose I should put the Blizzaks on the truck.
