Went with my brother to the Apple Store in the Mall last week for him to buy a new iPad to use when out of town.

I didn't get swayed by anything but he was sure eyeing that quadcopter kiosk.

It was the first time I've gone somewhere with him that he used a wheel chair. All the other times he walked with a cane.

I was looking in my rejected spam filter and looking for legit email. Happily it was all real spam.

Except for maybe the fact that I won the Japanese national lottery! That one must be real. And I have been approved for a million dollar loan by someone in India. The hot Russian brides are fore sure real but my wife does not let me date other women anymore. That and Macy's has a gift card waiting for me.

Well, nobody asked me about the smoked Turkey breast.

It took 1-1/2 hours.

It was so juicy juice ran out when you sliced it and it made a puddle under the breast just sitting there. And the sliced meat looked smooth like deli slices instead of grainy like home roasted turkey usually looks.

Made a big mistake though. Both injected and brined it. The outside 3/4 inch of meat was way too salty. However, the inside of the breast was wonderful. It tasted, in order of flavor, like turkey, smoke, and the garlic from the marinade, none overpowering the other. Get away from the salty brined outsides and it is really good.

Think the next trial run I am going to cut the breast in half, inject half and leave the other half plain and see what the difference is.

I'm not a fan of most sports so I really don't care who wins.

Richard-the turkey sounds good but I bet it will be better next time.

We are watching the CMA awards. Wifey for the music, me for the good looking wimmens!

The music is one of the reasons I don't watch the CMA awards.

My next oldest brother, George lived with me after his wife divorced him. He spent most of this time on the computer with the TV in the background on the CMT channel. That was back when they mostly just played country music videos. He used it for a radio.

Anyway one day while i was in his room talking with him I noticed all of the "She left me" or "He left me" videos had a boat in them somewhere. And in most all the videos the boat was out of water. There was even one with a couch in the water and the boat on the front porch! So much so that "find the boat" got entertaining. There was one that we couldn't find the boat, then we found it. There was a picture of a boat on the wall in the background. Another one she is driving along singing and someone drives past going the opposite direction pulling a boat. Even ones that were on a farm there was a boat in, around, or leaning up against the barn. We decided if you did't use your boat you would lose your lover.

Have fun in the retirement training Jeff.

Glad the Cubbies won last night. Hopefully it will not take another 108 years to win again.

I think every kid that ever swung a baseball bat fantasized about being up to bat in game 7 of the World Series in the bottom of the 9th and hitting a grand slam home run, or at least a game winning hit. I bet the crowd in the stands did not go wild. I bet attendance at work today in Chicago will be much reduced. I predict a lot of hangovers and sleeping in.

Yeah, I don't care for country music, either. My wife likes it but hates my "screaming death metal" so it balances out. She doesn't ask for much so it makes her happy if I watch it with her. She puts up with me watching endless car shows, old movies, and music documentaries.

It's Thursday.

My wife takes over the living room and the 60 inch TV with the surround sound system. I just go to my office and use a 27 inch monitor but I can sit a lot closer or swivel around 180 degrees and use the computer. She is really in to the crime shows where they real life investigate murders. If I ever vanish from Pelican please have the cops look under any new concrete pours at the house. She likes watching house hunters and remodels. I like the same type shows, but forget houses, cool old cars is my deal.

I like weird stuff.

Like the new BBC Series Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, Mostly cause I like the book.
It looks like they attempted a similar series back in 2012, but only made 3 episodes.

People of Earth is fairly entertaining so far. It's an alien abduction comedy.
Like Last Man on Earth.
Also liked IT Crowd. "Hello, IT...Just turn it off and back on."

Haven't checked out the new Red Dwarf stuff. Watched all the old series episodes when I was down with my foot.

Been watching an anime series that is in it's 18th season. Binge watched from the first episode. They are about to lose me this season because the intros this season are taking up 12 minutes of every episode!

Can watch crime dramas, but not something I look for or try to keep up with.
Also haven't watched any of the Walking Dead or Thrones stuff.

Like some of the scripted reality shows, Pawn Stars, Storage Wars, Street Outlaws, etc.

Liked Reno, especially the episode where they jumped the shark by actually jumping a shark.

Friend of mine has been visiting friend of his in a local hospital almost every day at lunch time because he loves their cafeteria food!

Applewood grilled a burger for myself for lunch today. YUM

After refrigerating that salty smoked turkey breast it seemed to have taken the salty taste away. Cut a slice to give Pepper and ate the middle of the slice that wasn't salty and it tasted better than fresh off the grill. Tried a whole slice including the salty part and now it tastes like smoked turkey with a hint of garlic. Not salty at all! I thought it was ruined. I don't understand, but I like it.

No clue what I will do for dinner tonight. Unlike most places there just doesn't seem to be very many places to grab bite local here. Traffic is so bad I was warned not to push being late to any place. My flight out is at 7:20 tomorrow and they say I should leave at 3 or risk missing the flight. The airport I only about a mile away.
