Is that like two years ago I got a warning for my yard not being mowed. It was 8 inches tall and the law states 18 inches, but a neighbor turned me in. Their house is for sale now.

Remember several years ago an antique dealer had a wagon as part of his lawn decoration with planters around and on it. His neighbors complained because it was a vehicle and was not parked on a pad. Code enforcement treated it as a garden feature and not a vehicle and let him have it. Then the neighbors complained enough they made him treat it like a vehicle and pour a pad for it. The pad looked horrible compared to having just the wagon. Then the neighbors complained that the pad was not connected to his drive. He connected it. Then they complained that it was a derelict vehicle, it couldn't move under it's own power, and was an eyesore. It was an antique covered wagon. The local code enforcement finally made him remove it. He put it in front of his antique shop. He then put up 8 of those painted wooden cutouts of a woman bent over working in the garden underwear mooning the passers by. They couldn't complain about those.

We just got back from sailing. The sailmaker brought our new sails with him and we went out to test them out. Beautiful sunny day, cool, with just the right amount of wind. It's kind of like taking your car out after an engine rebuild. Big grins. Any of you guys make it out here, you're welcome to go sailing.

Oh Haha 01-17-2017 04:33 PM

I'm not into boats but that sounds like a good day Jim.

We had a code enforcement office but he was laid off last year. When we moved to our city 15 years ago it was really nice and houses/yards were kept up. When the economy crapped in 08 we saw a lot more renters move in. Our street is pretty well kept but I believe all but one family are owners.

It bugs me when I drive down some of the streets and there are old cars and junk in the yards. The ordinances are there but nobody to enforce them now. Yeah, the cops will respond but only if a complaint is made.

I even made the kids put their toys away each night when they were younger.

That makes my smoker/roaster/grill hungry.
Got some Cherry wood chips for Christmas to try out.

I'm feeling a bit flat this arvo - Hep A, Typhoid, Hep B and tetanus shots today

The big fat T Bone should pick me up.

BURP!

I love Worcestershire sauce and hot English mustard on beef.

RKDinOKC 01-18-2017 02:52 AM

I'm really into just black pepper and butter on smoked steaks.

When I get tired of that gonna come up with a green chile sauce for em.

But right now I'm enjoying the differences between Charcoal, Hickory, Pecan, Apple, Cherry, and various chip mixes.

Are you planning a trip somewhere? Why the Typhoid shot?

My dad traveled a lot and he filled up several shot books. Going to South America, India or Africa you need some good shots to survive. I guess Hepatitis is pretty much everywhere.

When I was a kid everyone still got smallpox vaccinations. In 1971 when we moved back to from Hawaii to the mainland the Air Force decided we all needed another smallpox vaccination. Millions of tourists go to and from Hawaii every year with no smallpox vaccinations but the US Government decided we had to be vaccinate once again. It did not really "take" so I just have the one smallpox vaccination scan on my shoulder from when I was a young kid. I do remember that original vaccination had a really cool scab on my shoulder.

The best they can come up with is that the required vaccinations in the Marines to go to Viet Nam and something they can be exposed to caused MS. Both of my Brothers that were in the Marines and served in Viet Nam/Japan/Asia got MS. Understand 80% of Viet Nam Vets that are disabled have MS. And that's NOT counting the agent orange stuff that caused cancer. And my twp brothers had different fathers as well.

Younger brother was crew chief on a Chinook and was in the thick of it. He came home with MS.
Older brother was radar operator on an F4 phantom and got MS After going back to the area years later as a missionary.
When in the Jet group he mostly stayed on the big bases and on carriers and didn't get into the villages etc.
Younger brother was taking stuff to and from the villages all the time he was there.

GH85Carrera 01-18-2017 06:11 AM

Richard, that is silly.

There would be a total epidemic of MS cases and all the services vaccinate the troops. I personally know and knew many Vietnam vets that are fine except for getting old.

MS seems to be a problem in your family. I would bet there is a genetic reason.

As I mentioned my dad had three vaccination books full of 25 years of vaccinations for the Air Force. He died at age 83.

RKDinOKC 01-18-2017 06:17 AM

Sorry but 80% of the disabled Viet Nam Vets are not in my family.
My older brother did not come down with it until he went back and stayed with families as a missionary. Their MS effected them differently and all the doctors including the Mayo Clinic says it is NOT hereditary.

You know, I have a nice English shop, for gifts and some foods, up the street in between Dallas and Fort Worth. Really nice folks, I bought some items and jellies, and a what seemed to be a hamburger and pork pie from the freezer. I followed the instructions for cooking and prep. It smelled darn good, then I took a bite, Dang! where's the beef? It tasted like small chunks of cardboard. I got to wondering do those folks in Uk really have it bad with the beef issues of the past? Your steak, and my Texas style steaks are much tastier! Those poor UK folks should move to places where they can get a good meal!

It is my daughters birthday tomorrow and we are having dry aged venison chops since she has to sing the national anthem at 7:00 for a basketball game. We will take her out this weekend.

The rain has finally moved off to the east! Supposed to be in the 40s the rest of the week so shorts weather!

Porsche-poor 01-18-2017 09:58 AM

GH85Carrera 01-18-2017 10:17 AM

We just deliver a point cloud file that had 1.5 billion points! It was over 36 gigabytes. That should chock the customers computer. It is what they ordered, so we make what they ask for.

flipper35 01-18-2017 10:43 AM

Good thing the transfers are not via dialup.

Porsche-poor 01-18-2017 11:15 AM

GH85Carrera 01-18-2017 11:26 AM
