Breakfast was great. I sat across the table from my GP doctor and his 10 year old son. The same guy (the doc not the son) that has done things to me that are unmentionable. The current president of our club is a radiologist so he is a doctor. They both ordered the same thing so it sounded like a good plan. It was good.

Got home and watched qualifying for F1. Then mow the yard time. Wheeeeee.

I was cleaning the interior of my sailboat. That's the first time I did that since it was in the boatyard for maintenance/commissioning last fall. I even scrubbed the stove clean. What a fabulous project.

Howthefcukateya?

I survived a grandsons birthday party

Jim Richards 04-15-2017 05:56 PM

Excellent! Now, you're due for some vacation, Jeff. SmileWavy

Sounds like a great plan Jim. Three more weeks to go.;)

Right now it's more yard work before leaving it to look after itself for four weeks.

Outback Porsche 04-15-2017 06:46 PM

Hehe. I should have planted some of these in the garden for yesterday egg hunt. The look on the kids faces would have been gold.

A mate works for the contractor building the new court house. We got to have a sneak preview the other day before it's finished. Great views from the top floor.

Who's coming?

GH85Carrera 04-15-2017 08:08 PM

That is s lot of blue water there. I suspect that is not close to Alice Springs.

Outback Porsche 04-15-2017 08:37 PM

Lake Argyle, just a few thousand kilometers away ;)

GH85Carrera 04-16-2017 07:18 AM

Argyle! The place is almost all one color. No argyle look to it at all. So is the place named after the sweaters or the socks? ;)

Looks like an amazing location for retirement training!

Happy Easter bunnies. We went out for a walk around the harbor and had a late b-fast outdoors on our patio. Mango pancakes...mmmmmm.

It's going to be tough, but someone has to do it. :p

Jim Richards 04-16-2017 04:18 PM

Chin up, Jeff. :D

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Took almost all weekend for my laptop to make a bootable backup to my file server over wifi, 400 Gig.

GH85Carrera 04-17-2017 05:29 AM

Morning all.

I survived my three day weekend despite my Master Gardner wife. We now have yet another large chunk of the front yard as an area I will not have to mow. It is not yet a garden, there are several steps left before plants go in. I plugged two of the spray heads for the lawn sprinkler system and I have to move two more. Then I get to find the pipe that goes under the sidewalk into the other garden area and get that connected to the new garden area. Then we will get started on building the retaining wall, border wall to hold in the garden and hopefully keep the grass out. Then we get to go get a ton (literally) of "Rich Mix" soil. It is compost that is a very good planting soil.

Our yard is pure gumbo clay. It is no exaggeration to say once the plant parts are removed it would be perfect for making bricks or hand throwing a pot on a potters wheel. When digging in the yard you shovel up a scoop and then you use another shovel to scrape the first shovel with. Often you need a hand trowel to scrape the second shovel with. Of course if it is not watered for a while it pretty much hardens into brick form and takes a pickax to break up enough to get a shovel into it.

morning all. I need a do over. The entire month so far has bee one big pain in the $#@. For that matter I think 2017 will go down in history as the worst year yet and we are just getting started.

GH85Carrera 04-17-2017 07:26 AM

Sorry about the problems David. I guess it is a pain in the ass and the knee.

Like Churchill said "When you are going through hell, keep going" You will get through to the other side.
