Jim, we have swallows at our house and we like them since they eat so many bugs for us.

A 1 hole diesel?

OK, David has the most varied brands, even if Acura is Honda other places. Is all your lawn equipment different brands also?

flipper35 05-12-2017 10:22 AM

Richard, we have found the easy part is giving them an email address. Having them check it regularly though is a pain in the gm.

I suppose I should go get lunch heated up.

The IT department is setting up 15 Kiosk computers for the employees to use to check their email.

Several years ago I set up two Kiosks using iMacs that were put in the commissary. They were locked down with Kiosk software that only allowed a web browser and only a few web sites. They had privacy filters on the screens so you could see the screen only when standing directly in front of the Kiosk. They were for employees to access their account on the insurance web site. Nobody used them at all.

The current crop of IT and HR managers were not here when we provided the kiosks before. So they think it is a great idea. They are spendng a lot more than a couple of iMacs this time. The $4/mo email licenses plus the 15 kiosks and the associated software.

We have production kiosks all over the plant that employees use to clock in and out, and track all the jobs they are working. It is all web based and they clock in/out and enter their jobs with hand scanners attached to the kiosks. The kiosks are touch screen to keep keyboard/mouse for getting messed up in the dirty environment. As it is they replace the hand scanners fairly often.

I designed the touch screen interface used on the production kisoks, including on-screen keypads and keyboards for data entry. I also designed the desktop interface used by those that do the same stuff with desktop computers.

It would take a little more work, but I think they should incorporate the information and associated notices into the current Kiosk system instead of putting up different Kiosks. All the employees use the current kiosks to clock in and out every day. Was told I didn't know what I was talking about when I suggested it.

Speaking for myself and the rest of the posters here...

We are glad the missus vetoed the opportunity for you to post any selfies modeling those.

Got new brakes on the SC this morning. Think I got my $ worth out of last set!
Brake things that I had forgotten about but were thankfully not an issue today:
1. No rusted stuck/stripped little flathead screws that hold the rotor on
2. Rotor did not get jammed on drum e-brake pads when removing
3. Caliper pistons spread apart to slide in new pads
4. All new parts fit/ nothing needed to be sent back!

Phew.....:Dhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1494683759.JPG

After looking at the calipers and pads on both the 928GTS and the 955CTT are you sure those are big enough to work?

Just got a report from our phishing training company, KnowBe4. Say there is a huge ransomware outbreak right now. It is called WannaCry and spreads by malware AND once clicked will spread across the local network instead of email. It encrypts the computer and any backups. If it can't encrypt the backups, it deletes them. KnowBe4 says there is a Microsoft patch to stop it, and to turn off SMBV1 compatibility feature in windows to lock your computer down. Most of all, DON'T click on ANY attachments! The malware part has all kinds of guises. As of yet no fixes once infected, to get your data, you gotta pay the ransom. I know at my company we had 4 phishing emails reported Thursday and Friday that could be this malware. Hope they don't come in Monday and find most of the company computers encrypted.

I am usually not too concerned with these kind of reports when I hear about them from companies selling anti-virus software. But this is the first time in 2 years this company has sent out a warning like this, and I am only on their list because we use their awareness training. Ie they are not selling anything to stop or remove it.

RKDinOKC 05-13-2017 07:40 PM

Sorry, didn't mean to scare everyone off.

GH85Carrera 05-13-2017 08:14 PM

I did not want to get a virus from you talking about it!

One of the emails in my spam box recently was an application for me to fill out to be a secret shopper. They asked for everything except a SSN. I just let it stay in the spam box.
