My nephew is telling me I need to advertise my email hosting service @zipbang.com. He says he noticed a lot of people and small companies he deals with are using gmail. He bets they don't realize to get a gmail account they are signing away their privacy rights to Google and are allowing Google to scan/read every email they send and receive.

He also says the FTP drop ship service for sending/receiving large files provided with an @zipbang.com account is similarly more secure than using Drop Box.

Phew. The yard is mowed again. Some fool fertilized it last week and it is really growing now.

Still converting the flower beds to drip irrigation. The good news is the original sprinkler system I installed was put in by a very modest good looking, humble but real genius of a guy that made things easy. ;)

Sounds like he was worth every penny you paid him. :D

Probably double. He deserves a raise! :D

RKDinOKC 05-14-2017 02:12 PM

Give him a 10% bonus on what you agreed to pay him!

GH85Carrera 05-14-2017 02:39 PM

Pay him? Remember I am a really really cheap bastage. I mow my own yard because I am too cheap to pay someone else to do it.

We've been treated to some WWII bombers flying over our little burg. A B-24 and a B-25 have flown near or directly over my house this weekend. On Friday, I saw a bomber that I thought was a B-17, but it was higher altitude and flying away from me, so my aircraft identification is suspect. I never have been in the right place at the right time with my DSLR camera, so all I have is this meh pic I took of the B24 with my iPhone earlier today.

^^^This plane just flew over my house as I posted this, so once again, wrong place, wrong time.

Shooting photos of aircraft from the ground when you don't have a schedule is a real challenge. It is tough at an airshow and you know they are coming over the airfield.

In 1976 for the nations bicentennial the 4th of July celebration at Maxwell AFB was a big air show. Since I lived on base it was easy to just walk over to the airfield. Their headliner show was the Thunderbirds. I don't know if that was just before some of the more restrictive regulations they fly under now or if they bent the rules for a special show. One of the aircraft left the group and went out several miles. He came back over from behind the crowd very low on afterburners. The speed and noise was just stunning.

morning all. great weekend to be without a phone. NOT!!!!

GH85Carrera 05-15-2017 08:45 AM

This morning Mrs. Carrera is taking our dogs to the vets to get their teeth cleaned. That means no breakfast for little Reuben. He likes food more than I do. He does little dances and makes it very clear when he figures it is time to be fed. Our female dachshund only eats to stay alive and sometimes skips a meal. Reuben was not a happy doggie this morning and I am sure he is unhappy right now. He will be much happier once he is back home this afternoon.

Porsche-poor 05-15-2017 08:52 AM

poor dog. We have two of those. One can care less about eating and one thinks my only job is to make sure he has food.

GH85Carrera 05-15-2017 09:09 AM

Yea, he loves his food. It is funny how well his internal alarm clock works. I feed him in the morning whenever we get up. He understands to not bother to try and wake us up early and leave us alone. Then I feed him in the afternoon when I get home from work or about 4:30. On a weekend or holiday he knows when it is 4:30 and starts doing his routines to get fed.

Porsche-poor 05-15-2017 09:23 AM

time a funny thing and then they mess with it in the fall and spring and really mess up the pets.

GH85Carrera 05-15-2017 09:25 AM

Oh, he instantly adapts to the spring froward routine. He is always ready to eat. In the fall when we go back is what he hates.

Porsche-poor 05-15-2017 10:01 AM

well I didn't get the 911 out this weekend as every time I thought about it the rain was coming down really really hard. So thank me later for watering your lawn!!!!!

GH85Carrera 05-15-2017 10:11 AM

With all the garden projects we have had and the many rainy days I had not driven my 911 in a long time. It was nice to get it out on Saturday.
