I had to get my spare propane bottle refilled. I have two of them. One is on the grill, the other stays in the storage shed until the grill bottle quits. Swap em, get the empty refilled and back to the shed.
I went to a local propane place and pulled up and saw the guy out there filling bottles. I had to wait for one guy getting 4-80 lb, 6-40 lb and one 100 lb bottle filled. I prefer to get my bottle refilled because they give me a full bottle, and it is a lot cheaper than the bottle swap at the gas station or grocery store. I am set for while for propane. |
We have a combo gas/charcoal grill and then a charcoal firebox for smoking. I have never gotten around to getting gas for it.
Richard, just bring it to Joe's house for the party. :) |
Cool!
I just received a new and improved insurance policy. The 911 is now just $318 per year, the Elky is $376 per year. Same coverage, the only real change is that now I don't commute in the Elky and that dropped the 911 coverage as well. The 911 was never covered for daily driving, but I could drive it on pretty days. They had a "show your co-workers" exemption and it was OK to drive it once or twice per month to work on pretty days. Bonus! |

Don't get jealous. Everything has a price. It is however, 1 of 3 made Iris Blue Metallic, and the only 1 of those that is a 5 speed.
Was actually looking for a BoxsterS or a 911 Cabriolet when stumbled onto it. Tried for 2 weeks to talk myself out of it too. The color combo/transmission option and the fact it already had the suspension upgrades I would have done myself that won out. |
Good Friday morning all.
Mother nature found out yesterday was the first day of winter and changed accordingly. We hit an official high of 65 degrees in early afternoon. Then the switch was changed from fall to winter. It dropped to the 40s in short order and bottomed out at 29 degrees overnight. The good news it the days are getting longer. Now we start gaining on flying time in a day. We wait until 2 hours after sunrise to start flying and shut down two hours before sunset. The shadows are just too long otherwise. That is one big advantage of LIDAR, they can fly at night. We would need a REALLY big strobe on the bottom of the airplane to fly at night. |
A strobe like that and they would be talking about you in the UFO thread.

Hola, y'all. Holiday shopping (mostly done online) was finished up yesterday. Yay! I hope you're also at the end of the shopping thing and can relax a bit in the final run-up to the holidays. SmileWavy

We have one potential client that my partner and I both get the "big hat no cattle" vibe from. He has lots of big plans and grandiose dreams. He wants us to jump through some hoops and invent how to do some things for him, but so far no money. We hear lots of promises, but no money. We are not going to spend a penny on his plans and even prove we can do what he wants, until we see some money from him. He is very ready for us to go spend a BIG chunk of change so he can decide. That ain't gonna happen. We ain't gonna tell him we have already been there, done that, got the t-shirt, bumper stickers, and wrote a book about it. It is easy and our equipment is perfect for it.
Like the line in the movie, Show me da money! We can all get rich together, but he get to have some skin in the game up front. Not just our blood sweat and tears. I really hope he comes through. He has been promising to "turn the crank" and "pump the well" and a lot of other BS phrases. Show me da money! |
Just tell him before you can "turn the crank" or "pump the well," He gotta "prime the pump!"
|
That is pretty much what we told him. Deposit the money or send a check, we will send you some data and go collect new data.
Money talks. Everything else is just more hot air. |
Must be my mother in law's husband. When they were looking at houses all the contractors stopped talking to him because he talked big and talked a lot about adding a patio door here, big window there and what not but he really has no idea what he is talking about or what he wants.
|
Just sent an email to the original owner of my 928 to make me an offer.
|
You just got it back and now you don't like it?

When I moved into my house I wanted to re-venier the fireplace (previous owner painted the brick), put french doors where the back door with windows on one side of the fireplace, and put windows on the other side.
The only things I've actually done is paint rooms, unpaint the front door, and redo floors with engineered wood planks the kitchen, dining, living rooms. Oh yeah and painted the outside of the house, twice. Have thought about staining the brick. And replacing the concrete patio that has a 6 inch drop with a deck the same level as the back door threshold. One of the houses I looked at had ground level deck and I really liked that. Seems these cars I like wth the prancing horse in the middle of the logo keep pulling at my budget. |
I used to like Ferrari cars but they are terrible expensive to maintain.
|
I forgot: Merry Christmas everyone!

Was sitting at a stoplight and the young driver to my right gets my attention and says, "Nice Ferrari!" I said "Thanks, but it's a Porsche." He said he was looking at the emblem on the wheel and it had a prancing horse. I said, "Risky Business" He did the palm to forehead thing and said "oh yeah, it's like that one, cool."
My last two "tune ups" were $11,000. The last one was an engine rebuild, including bearings and rings, new transmission seals, rebuilding the ECU, headers, and having an x-pipe made to spec. The tune up before that included rebuilding the heads and valves, new cams, new MAF, and all new hoses, seals, and sensors, intake honed to match the heads, and the cam covers and intake stripped, and powder coated. It was about the same price. It's that WYAIT stuff that gets you! The tune up before that was only $2,000. I did plugs. a wideband 02 and added what is called a Shark Tuner. It replaces the ECU chips with programmable chips that are accessible thru the diagnostic port and an interface you connect with your laptop. It has a feature that will auto tune spark advance and fuel maps on the fly with a laptop connected. That's pretty cool. It only has 8 spark plugs, but the 928 does have twin dizzies. |
Morning all. I have been watching some of the Dr. Who specials that BBC America is showing.
