I'm heading home for a sleep and re-pack for the next trip tomorrow

Porsche-poor 02-07-2018 02:27 PM

I'll be out a job site tomorrow, possibly all day.

Don't have anywhere I need to go, but still don't like not having personal transportation avalable.

Had to break down and get a new mouse. My magic mouse got to where it would turn on and off, and the cursor movement would drop out and I would have to turn it off and back on again. Tried cleaning it real well and fresh batteries, but still messed up. The new one sure works a lot smoother. Didn't realize how the response degregated over time.

Not sure I am going to like the power plug in on the bottom of the mouse, but they say 1 minute of charging and it will go for 6 hours.

I have a four letter word on the calendar for either Thurs or Fri. SAIL. I haven't used my boat in two weeks waiting for the rigger to build a new set of lifelines for it. I mean, come on! It ain't Rocket Surgery!:mad:

This learning new stuff is hard on the brain. The seminar I am at is put on my one of the software packages we use and the camera manufacturer of the aerial camera we have. The software is
Skyline Software Systems: SkylineGlobe 3D earth software solutions

and I am at their headquarters. We are doing a cool project flown by the camera company of a cone shaped live volcano that is in Chile. The scientists about wet their pants with the data that is the best ever done of a live volcano.

Lots of great contacts to other companies and people that are in out industry.

I am going to bed early. It was short night last night.

Back to the classroom. Gotta get trained in how to do something or the other. ;) They do have coffee there.

flipper35 02-08-2018 07:28 AM

Hope it is good coffee. I have to admit our conference in Austin has good coffee, as in you don't have to load it up with junk to make it drinkable. Though I still enjoy a cup loaded up with junk now and then as well. When Em had her surgery they had cinnamon coffee and I put hazelnut flavored creamer in it. I love cinnamon/hazelnut flavors. My sister tried it because I told her so. She liked it also.

We could get up to 8 inches of **** tonight.

GH85Carrera 02-08-2018 09:38 AM

I only drink black coffee. No funny flavors. Just coffee.

RKDinOKC 02-08-2018 09:57 AM

My Dad drank a LOT of coffee, around 8 cups a day.
Brother George always had a Mr. Coffee going.
Brother Tom has some sort of fancy coffee maker, and goes to Starbucks at least daily. When he goes on trips and vacations he posts pictures of the Starbucks he visits.

I don't like coffee. Guess I never growed up.

Where's your training at? That crazy building that's wider at the top than it is at the bottom?

Ditto.

No it is a fancy office building in Herndon, VA.

It must be very high rent. The bathroom is down the hall and has an automatic lights. The first time I went into the bathroom the lights came on automatically. It was very dark in there before. I suddenly heard two men talking. I froze. Then I saw there is a 34 inch HD TV over the sinks with the Weather channel playing. Phew, nothing weird going on after all.

Glen,

When you get back I'd like to chat.

Thanks!

RKDinOKC 02-08-2018 12:37 PM

Glen is learning how to properly blur or paste pastoral scenes over "Classified" installations that would otherwise be exposed by aerial photography.

Stuff like Groom Lake or Bottoms Up Strip Club.

Remember when I had an Apple Newton. If you made your home location Groom Lake all the icons changed to space ships and aliens from the Space Invaders video game. Those were the days when computers were fun.

Wish the Energizer Bunny still ran on Macs. It would have been funny to give Bob that Mac Mini and every so often the energizer bunny would go across the screen pounding his drum. Or the Talking Moose, every so often a moose head that looked like Bullwinkle would pop up and say something silly.

BTW, I am buying Rick V's Dad's Targa.

Met with Rick and Beth last week in Charlottesville then went to his Dad's house to look at the car.

Rick's Dad is awesome. Rick remains much quicker on his feet than I am.

I'll take some pics when I go get the Targa.

I am a rag top man.

The place I worked in Brawley CA the two bosses would go through four pots per day. The office manager and I would get through one. Sometimes black, sometimes (like for dessert) with flavorings.

RKDinOKC 02-08-2018 01:21 PM

You gotta learn them differences. It's Porsche not Porsch and it's Targa not Rag Top. Unless it's a Cabriolet, then you can call it a rag top.

Oh, and before you get started, it is NOT a T Top. That is reserved for Firebirds, Camaros, and Vettes.

I'm sure you will have loads of fun with it. I really like the new Targas that move the hoop to stow the roof.
