Nieces kid is going to football state championship for their school size. Nieces husband is the coach.
He was in their play as well, don't remember what it was. Think the biggest problem they had was taking a picture of him without all the girls hanging off him. Those private christian schools seem brutal. He was the one that was "supposed" to take care of my lawn this summer. When I went thru HS every year 9th-12th the Football Captain married the Head Cheerleader before the season ended. Their parents were well enough off they got a big house in an affluent neighborhood as a wedding gift. Never heard about them after their graduation. |
Cool. great to see kids succeed.

A star is born. Congrats to your son, David. SmileWavy

I'd put up a picture but the only good one I got is with "the ghost of Christmas present" and I probably should not post a picture without her parents permission.

It is funny how some kids would rather fight a rabid badger than perform on stage, and others dream about it. I guess it is a good thing. Not everybody needs to be an actor. ;)
Back in my high school days, I was always next to the stage, taking pictures of every pep rally and play. Every kid in school knew me since I was up front and visible on the stage stairs, or somewhere with a camera around my neck. I heard kids ask me to take their picture constantly. Film was expensive, so I would just fire the flash and they were happy. I never felt any desire to try acting. |

Really found a great anti-spam filter with Canit.
Can't get anyone else to even talk to me. |
We use Sophos, but it is included in the firewall. It does a great job though.
|
Sophos is a firewall thing.
Proofpoint is supposed to be the best. It better be at $5 /user/month! |
They have other stand alone products, didn't look to see if they had spam filtering. We had a couple others prior, including Barracuda. :(
We use their whole drive encryption products as well. Nice people to deal with, as opposed to another security company that harrumphed and walked off after I told her we would not be using O365 until maybe after I retire. First time I ever saw someone get mad for not using a product they don't sell. |
Well, after looking at hosted anti-spam all day...Canit was uniquely very very easy for end users.
If you got an email that was spam you just clicked on a link at the bottom of the email. Everyone else wants to log into the anti-spam server and click it as spam there. Sophos has a product for antispam, but it resides on each persons computer. Interesting because it used to be an anti-virus of mail servers. The thing I don't like about anti-spam on the mail server or local computer is you get all that spam traffic on your ISP connection bandwidth. Otherwise there are two solutions I could use on the server itself. These AppRiver guys are hearing a lot of Roaring Penguin users complain about the AppRiver interface. It will be interesting if they try to implement some of the user interface. Seems all anyone can do is make Outlook plugins for reporting delivered email as spam. More than half my users don't use Outlook. And recently I have a free java based client that works like Outlook and looks the same as my mail server's web mail. Before I had a few users that bought Office to get Outlook, or stand alone Outlook. One thing with AppRiver is...Because I have a partner portal to help manage multiple domains I am now a reseller of Office365 and/or OfficeApps. And it looks like I can resell cheaper than the company I work for is paying. Microsoft is the tenant I am the billing contact. Not that I would not want to sell my email and web hosting thing. The price of 365 is kinda interesting. That is what I do with domain names. I am a wholesale registrar. Only domain pricing I can't beat is those crazy godaddy sales prices they don't make anything on to get your business, then pump the coin out of you later. |
Morning all. We made it through Monday.
Hey Richard, now that you are educated, can we do lunch again? |
Morning all. Brrr its cold here. Below freezing out.
|
David, does the cold last long there?
On a side note, how come Glen only asks Richard about lunch? |
it can. still only 30 out. typically a week and it will warm up and rain on us.
|
Cause Richard usually sleeps in.
|
He never offers to meet David or me for lunch. Or Jim, but Jim is probably out sailing. I understand Jeff might be a looong commute though, even in an airplane. :)
