Mine's a bit less tarted up. I do have 240Z bumpers on it, and I have new 16" Panasport wheels sitting in their boxes awaiting new tires.

The chrome trim along the tops of doors is not installed yet, so that looks a bit unfinished. And, the astronaut ride height needs to be addressed soon.

Jim, you need some 22s to fill in the fenders. Then you can keep that ride height! (I can’t do green font from my phone).

I love that color and those wheels. On Jim's car, not that red pimp your ride thing.

Remember some friends of my parents came to visit one evening in their brand new 280Z. He thought as a young teen I would be really excited about it. Told him that was cool, but come look at this...He was the one that got really excited when I took him to the side of the house where I was detailing a pristine Mercedes gull wing.

Back when the 280ZX was new, a buddy at work bought one. He had the dealer find the exact car he wanted. It was all sorts of new fangled, and had a a lady's voice that told you if the door was not fully closed and other things. Pretty space age for me with my 74 914 2.0 at the time. I got to tease him because the lady voice would say "the door is ajar" with a sexy tone and I told him the it is still just a door and a jar was a storage vessel.

The funniest thing is the his wife got super jealous of that female voice and made him take the car to the dealer and have the voice changed to a man's voice. My wife calls herself a garage widow because I am playing with my car, but she is not truly jealous of a car.

He moved up to Oregon long ago, and I have not talked to him in several years. He still had that car in pristine condition.

Back in that era they were common at the autocross site. The only car that ever comes out to our autocross, that is older than my 911, is a guy with a total tack whore gutted, stripped down loud and obnoxious 240Z. It is ugly and rusty, and with flared fender and wide race slicks is fairly fast. We have not seen him in a while. It may have collapsed from rust and abuse.

Overall it was for sure an iconic car of the era.

With all the storms coming through we have had a lot of weather alerts. My phone, my wife's phone, her iPad my iPad, and the home security system all start beeping or squawking and alerting us. Even the county wide siren system is blaring. All of that is OK.

The phone and iPads are concerned mostly with exactly where we are. The county system goes off if there is a warning for some part of the county, and that can be 35 or 40 miles away from us and not a concern for us. The security system uses the county wide alert system. So it start beeping and making a noise our dogs really hate.

So I called the alarm company. I told them I would like to kill the alarm system weather alerts, as we have multiple backups. First off, we are watch TV and the weather anchor gets all hyped up and starts the alarm, and the cable company then scrolls across his face with another alert.

The alerts are easy check, and silence, but the alarm system has a menu of icons to hit to get to the point where I can delete the the message and make it shut up.

The alarm system lady was reluctant to disable the feature, but I convinced her to disable it.

We have had many alerts for flash flooding, and if our house floods, it will be a biblical flood and the animals will gathering two by two.

So we sometimes have flash flood alert, severe storm warning, then a tornado warning of all those devices. Now we will have one less to worry about.

At least you are being civil and not a total jerk a-hole like the low life workers around here. He was complaining because I had him working on a client project on Memorial day. And I had him mow my yard as well, and he only got to have one beer for that! Next thing you know he is gonna want me to pay him!

being civil is another issue................

Lets hope that the worker is not of the mind set to form a union and refuse to mow.

If the jerk tries that, no more beer for him. And it was a nice cold beer! And I let him have a bottle of water too boot!
