yep, can't even wear t-shirt with the company logo to a bar.

GH85Carrera 09-11-2019 12:48 PM

Hey we have company meetings at the bar at places like Charleston's or Interurban. We even invite the contractor pilot and mechanic we use to help us make a company decision on which beer and menu item we each should get. And we even mention the airplane and the maintenance so it is tax deductible! And we have been know to utter a bad word and make rude comments to each other, and we all laugh!!!

RKDinOKC 09-11-2019 07:06 PM

Always thought it was funny about shirts with company logos and bars cause i don't think anyone that cared about that rule would go to a bar to see it broken.

It was a scandal when one of the company pickup trucks was spotted in the parking lot at a Hooters though.

GH85Carrera 09-12-2019 05:43 AM

Dude, Hooters is a family restaurant. Just ask any dad that takes his 6 to 8 year old child in to a Hooters. They get lots of attention and the waitresses are all just owl enthusiasts. They serve horrible food, just above the level of what a owl would want to eat.

Welp, off to Hallett to drive the new cars on the track.

Don’t be too miserable about being forced to drive a bunch of new cars. Just suck it up and think of it as character building.

Nope, just the sudden stops.

Porsche-poor 09-12-2019 08:19 AM

true

porsche4life 09-12-2019 08:55 AM

Did you get to drive the GT3RS?

Porsche-poor 09-12-2019 09:11 AM

shh he is busy factoring in the payment plan to get it on the boss's credit card.

GH85Carrera 09-12-2019 02:32 PM

The GT2RS was unfortunately not for driving, just looking at. It was for sale, only $375,000. I offered a straight across swap of keys and title, and they did not want to do that, the bastages.

They had the instructor driving a Cayenne S in the front, leading the way, and slowing us down. I was forced to drive a Panamara GTS, a Macan base, and a 911 Carrera 4S. First up, the Panamara GTS. WOW, that thing is FAST and sounds great, and handles great. It has a ton of power, and sounds great, and is a blast. The Macan base felt like a slug, and then I remembered it is about the same speed for acceleration as my 911, dang fast 4 door car. Then the 911 4S. Double wow, wholly crap. That thing sounds wonderful, and man is if fast, just wow. Punch it and keep the pedal to the metal, er carpet, and it screams to 7,500 RPM, like a banshee. I just can't imagine a Turbo 911.

Then we got a hot lap ride in the Panamara GTS. I was in the back seat, with the local PCA pres, and the vice pres was in the front passenger seat. I was holding on when he did launch control. If was like the jump to light speed in Star Wars. My eyes truly (really, no joke) could not focus for a second as it hit 2nd gear and I was temporally disoriented, just a strange sensation I have never felt before.

He was hauling buns. He casually took turn one at 70, and punched it up the hill, and hit 102 before nailing the brakes before the hairpin. The PCA president has a 944 Turbo S that was a track set up gutted car, with race tires. He mentioned he once and only once managed to hit 102 on the way to turn 2. And he was alone in a lighted highly boosted 944 Turbo track car on gummy slicks, and not an nicely comfortable air conditioned barge with three passengers.

Overall a tough day at work.

That doesn't sound right.-.have they changed Hallet? In my unstripped 944 Turbo S overboosted to 275 rwhp, I was upset with myself because I kept braking down to 70 in turn one and everyone else was doing 80 or more. Was doing 140 at the end of the braking zone going into turn 2 called the stop sign. That car was very quick accelerating over 70! in 3rd did 115 at redline and was well into 4th by the braking zone.

Know it was making 275 rwhp because put it on a dyno they had at the track that day. And know it was 140 because I was praticing late braking and checked the speedo right before I hit the brakes.

Was on sticky tires. But they were sticky rain tires instead of slicks. I liked them because they provided more control at the limit, ie they were soft edged.

GH85Carrera 09-13-2019 06:00 AM

Brian's blue gutted 944 Turbo with all the bells and whistles 400 RHW+, and on race rubber is just hitting 102 at the top of the hill after turn one. So either your speedo was way off, of you remember wrong. My 911 would just kiss the red line in 3rd and that is 90 with 200 HP.

The Panamara is 4 wheel drive, so he could floor it and not worry about wheel-spin.

Porsche-poor 09-13-2019 07:39 AM

Morning all. Well after two days at the dealer they were not able to replicate the starter issue. So once again I am driving on a ticking disaster.

flipper35 09-13-2019 08:46 AM

In other words, it is such a rotten job they really don't want to touch it?

Porsche-poor 09-13-2019 08:49 AM

that is possible. Or worse it is one of those electrical gremlins that needs to be found and killed.
