Moring all. Nice looking white car....the old one that is.

flipper35 10-11-2019 08:18 AM

Top o the mornin' to ya lads. Almost thought about grabbing a jacket this morning. Almost.

Porsche-poor 10-11-2019 08:23 AM

I had to. its a tad chilly

flipper35 10-11-2019 08:27 AM

We will get your weather in a few days. I guess I should mow one last time before it gets here.

Got one leaf spring, the broken one, changed on the trailer last night. The other goes on tonight. Jacob wants to save the old springs to make knives.

GH85Carrera 10-11-2019 09:08 AM

If I went outside I would need a jacket. It is 45 right now. I am not giving up my shorts as yet!

Porsche-poor 10-11-2019 09:33 AM

I was wearing shorts just last weekend for the heart walk. Not this weekend that's for sure.

flipper35 10-11-2019 11:26 AM

High of 44* here today.

GH85Carrera 10-11-2019 12:46 PM

It is up to mid 50s now, but we are now looking like a first freeze, and for sure a frost.

Dang it, gonna kill of some of our plants. The good news is it should kill off a lot of skeeters. And the Bermuda grass will really slow down but the fescue will be green all winter.

flipper35 10-11-2019 01:25 PM

I am not sure what color ours is all winter.

GH85Carrera 10-11-2019 01:34 PM

The Bermuda goes dormant, so it is brown. The shade grass is a cool weather grass, and stays green all winter.

It might be nippy tonight when we go out to eat. I am being stubborn and sticking with shorts. It is just fall, and winter is not here yet. I don't wanna have to get out the jeans yet.

flipper35 10-11-2019 01:47 PM

We cover all of ours under a nice white blanket.

What’s this talk about cold and wet ****!? It’s sunny here!!! 🤣🤣🤣

I’m heading to BCN tomorrow, supposed to be nice there with the exception of some light rain.

Jim Richards 10-11-2019 07:33 PM

It’s nighttime here (DC).

GH85Carrera 10-12-2019 06:16 AM

We had a freeze warning last night, but we only got to 36. No freeze, which is good.

That bad news is the heater did not come on. It looks like a thermistor issue. It will kick on, gas burns for a few seconds while the igniter is clicking. The ignitor stops and the flame stops. It will do that three times, then shut down totally.

I will call for the weekend repair guy. He is likely flooded with calls.

Jim Richards 10-12-2019 05:48 PM

Speaking of flooded, today we went to the US Sailboat Show in Annapolis where some of the streets and lots of the area in/around the boat show was flooded. And I’m not referring to the harbor itself. The places that should’ve been dry land. Weird. Still, we met up with fellow Pelican VincentVega at the show and had a good time.

GH85Carrera 10-13-2019 05:49 AM

About to head for the last autocross for the year.

We went to the club breakfast and had a huge turnout. It was a busy place as another car club was there with old 40s and 50s cars. One was a cool 52 Plymouth.

Jim Richards 10-13-2019 09:24 AM

Off to NYC...

Porsche-poor 10-14-2019 07:38 AM

Morning all. Nice little weekend with one of the college kids at home. Not that we saw all that much of him. LOL.

GH85Carrera 10-14-2019 09:54 AM

I called the heat repair guys this morning. They showed up just after 9:00 AM, and did the same things I had done, and determined the ignition module kicks on the gas, the and ignites the flame but it goes out in 3 seconds. Which is why I called them. The did clean the spark detector, and several connections, and test voltages. They called Lennox tech support and got put on hold. The went on to the next call and they are waiting on Lennox Tech support to call back with an answer.

I am real glad they are not throwing parts at it, and trying to diagonals the issue. He said one upgrade kit replaces the igniter, spark detector, and burners. Then he added, we know that all works but just for three seconds at a time.

The good news is it it 71 outside and the high will be about 80 today so heat will not be critical in the house.

Hopefully it is some easy and cheap component that is bad. In the 20+ years we have lived here we have never had a service guy touch the furnace. I replace the filter every 45 days. And I vacuum it out and keep it clean. The flame is nice and clean blue.
