It looks like we’re helping out with our grandson this weekend. Oh boy, diapers!

flipper35 02-06-2020 11:20 AM

Jim, it is warm out there just pretend the garden hose is a bidet.

That is the way our dogs think. I feed them in the laundry room, and we keep a small tub of dog food in there, and the dog treats. At night when we go to bed we locked them in the laundry room when they were puppies to avoid issues in the house at night. To get them in the laundry room they got a treat each. Now they sleep in the floor in the bedroom next to our bed, but they still demand the treat before going to bed.

Today Mrs Carrera was in laundry mode. The real reason we have that room and keep a washer and dryer in the there as well as the dog food. Since she was in there there was a possibility that a treat might be handed out. Both dogs stared at the laundry room while she was in there, and continued to stare in there for several minutes after she had left and turned the lights out. So close and yet so far from a treat.

Our beagle will howl if he doesn't get a treat. The lab is just happy to go to bed.

I ask Pepper if she wants to go for a ride. She runs to the back door so I can let her go "do her stuff" before she goes for a ride!

Thanks everyone, it’s much appreciate.

We had a bit of rain here while we were away. Even missed the river flowing for the first time in about 3 years. The lawns have gone wild! It’s going to take me more than half an hour this morning to get them looking their best again.

Sorry to hear Jeff.
My condolences.

5 inches of snow this morning... changed to sleet/freezing rain continuing till tomorrow then back to snow with an additional 8 - 12 inches.

Think i'll go take a nap.

Dang, you have to drive a 911. Tough duty!

I saw there were some tornadoes and heavy rain in Louisiana. I hope you missed that and the flooding.

Hey, TGIF guys. Except Jim, happy Saturday.

Jim Richards 02-07-2020 06:45 AM

Thanks Glen. Happy Saturday, y’all!

GH85Carrera 02-07-2020 06:47 AM

So Jim, the the Datsun almost ready for driving and not tinkering?

Jim Richards 02-07-2020 09:02 AM

Oh yeah, I’ve been driving the Z since October. This car is a rolling restoration project now. It needs a suspension refresh, and I’m just getting back to working on the 5-speed and 3.90 diff to swap into the car.

GH85Carrera 02-07-2020 09:09 AM

Wow, a 3:90 final drive will make it get up and go.

I presume the Datsun parts cost a little less than a Porsche parts.

I remember one of the local PCA guys bought a used 911 and was the typical DYI guy and told about his first oil change. He had driven old VW bugs for years. The engine was good and hot, and he put his 5 quart oil pan under the oil tank and removed the plug. Of course a massive jet of very hot oil came pouring out and was overflowing his puny 5 quart oil pan and started heading down the driveway, to the gutter and down the street. He was grabbing anything he could to stem the flow and it just kept coming out. He had his own Exon Valdez spill. The neighbors were upset. He was really pissed. Of course after it stopped flowing out he realized he had the engine to drain as well.

Then he realized he only bought 5 quarts of oil and his wife was not home to go get more oil. He was covered in oil and had to go take a shower before anyone would take him to the store to buy more oil. He finally looked up the oil capacity and decided to buy his first ever case of oil. He had forgotten to get an oil filter so he needed that as well. He had to wait for his wife to get home so he started power washing the driveway a gutters to hide his error. He got all dirty and had to take another shower before his wife would take him use her car to go to the store. He finally finished the oil change and had used up all the paper towels they had, and it required three sets of dirty clothes and time power washing everything.

He let the local Porsche shop do his next oil change. He was a funny story teller and had us all in stitches.

I plugged my iPhone into my computer to do a backup. Good old iTunes tells me there is an update for the phone. So I start downloading it. Apple has a pretty slow server. It is a 4.7 gig update. That just floors me. 4.71 gig for the OS on a phone. I had gone through several computers before I ever had a hard drive that was 5 or 10 gig. Now I download 4.71 gig as an update for my phone. Wow.

I think it needs a nice long trip, say 1600 miles each way, to get everything settled. I will even let you buy supper if you like!

Jim Richards 02-07-2020 02:14 PM

Gee, thanks!
