Morning all. I currently have network issues. Crappy program keeps locking up and kills everything I have open.

I had a client asking for a print of several square miles of a county. She wanted a layout of several miles and the layout of a township is very logical, but not intuitive.

The area shaded in yellow is one Township. 36 square miles, and most of the USA is setup in a Township, Section and Range. The township has a name as well as a numerical designation, like Township 14-north, Range 21 west, then the section number. With the section, township and range of a property description I can find an aerial photo of a property and show it over multiple years.

The client asked for a 9 square mile area centered on section 27. So I have to find the sections on all sides and that is 9 square miles. I spent an hour in the program I use on just occasion to layout a print. I have everything set up, but it had one identifier on the file that I did not want on my final print. Somewhere buried deep in some sub, sub, sub menu a radio button has options and a way to do what I wanted. I finally said screw it, and made a PDF, opened it in Photoshop and edited out the offending text in seconds. Sometimes a workaround is the most logical way to get to the end product.

And those lines are wiggly just a bit because it is real township in Oklahoma, and the hills and terrain prevent every section from being straight in reality.

When I was going through that, I hired an attorney, and listened to his advice. We went to the judge one time and I had to swear I would faithfully execute my duties as executor of the estate. That was the last time I have worn a suit and tie. One of my goals is no never wear a tie again.

After that, when things were winding down, my attorney went to the judge by himself and I did not have to get dressed up in a monkey suit.

We got the fountain in the front garden winterized. The statue is off the basin and covered up. The water basin is drained, cleaned, cloroxed, and covered.

While we were out there a couple from a nearby neighborhood stopped and asked about the angle trumpet plant. She looked shocked when my wife said it is too big to move inside, and we just let it die in the freeze. We have taken cuttings that she will replant next year. We gave the lady a cutting. It is a yellow trumpet flower, and she has one that is pink.

David, having a pro in the family certainly does make things much easier, especially if she is your wife.

Cheater!

I do know that feeling however. My wife was the head of HR at the university where she worked. She knows a bit about retirement and health insurance. She would bring home mind numbing boring stuff about our health insurance and I just said "you are the trained professional in this" and asked her to show me where to sign.

I take car of all photography and we are even.

We just returned from the First American's Museum. It opened a few months ago, so all sparkling and new. Whoever they hired to do the photography, and print production is for sure a real pro. It was all done very well and top notch. They had a lot of great stuff on display on loan from the Smithsonian and other museums. With a brand new museum, the collection is just starting for their own items. Highly recommended if traveling through Oklahoma City. It is just a mile from I-35, 1/2 a mile from I-40, and just a few miles from I-44.

Phffft. That is just a nice breezy day.

We had 58 MPH winds the other day when the low pressure area was stuck over St. Lewis.

Are you all recovered from the sick baby crud he shared?

It's rarely breezy where I live. But a few weeks ago we had a windstorm in SoCal. A neighbor's eucalyptus tree toppled over into the street. This was a 70' tall tree. Thank goodness no one got squished. A few years ago another tree from that stand fell over after a week of hard rain. After the city removed the tree from the street, they left a smushed Hyundai at the curb. Like a cartoon, there was a perfectly round/cylindrical crush of the car's greenhouse.

I am surprised they did not write him a ticket for parking a non running car in the neighborhood.

Phew.

Two years ago on a fall trip it was COLD weather (high teens and low 20s) and of course I had the heat on the 911 running. The factory AC was pitiful, but the box stock factory heater will roast occupants in short order. I had turned the footwell blowers off, and I forgot to add in any fresh air to keep the vent temps below roasting. My wife went to get a sip of water from a bottle that fits in the door pocket. She said ouch, the heater vent almost burned my hand. So I added in some fresh air and that got the temp to warm and toasty not burn you level.

I have the kneepad vents from Kuhel to add to the tiny little vent on the sides of the 85 Carrera. The knepad vents on that side got a bit melty, and I really needed to replace it. I finally called Griffiths and mentioned the issue, and he said the instructions have a warning to not run too much heat as they will melt. He sent me a replacement one under warranty as his parts are lifetime guarantee.

I finally got around to installing it today. It has been a while, but I never sit over there and I kept forgetting to do it. So now the passengers will have a working AC and heat vent and not have to rely on the tiny little side vent and the center vent. The bosses wife will appreciate it.

Smogged the 930 today. Every other year, for the past 16 years I've had this car. The car has never not passed, but every time it is still anxiety-provoking.

Agree so happy to drive dedicated race cars that are free from all the DMV, smog and insurance hassles.
At the track no cops or danger to the public.

I envy you guys that have road course cars.

We had our first slush fall from the sky for this fall.

We ended up 2nd out of 44 cars, chasing 1st place Ron Esau was so much fun I don't have to race for a month.
Fun passing 7 cars a lap (many classes), but the go pro tuned off at the green flag.
Last year this event (Big Bore Bash) was extremely cold and windy.
Last Saturday in the high desert above LA was San Diego perfect.
