In other news, I didn't win an item.being auctioned by one of my kids' schools for their annual fundraising gala. I thought of you for this one, Sid. It was a tour for 4, for Jay Leno's garage/hanger. Mr. Leno's presence not included in the experience. Went for $1950. That will be fun for whichever gear head won it.

Yea, nice charity gift from Jay.

I have said it before, and I will say it again, of ALL the Hollywood celebrities, or sports celebrities, or whatever celebrities, Jay Leno is the man I would like to meet, and spend a day with. He is a true car guy and seems to be a genuine nice guy. And he is a self made man, who got rich by making people laugh.

The wind machines are all off line. It is dead calm right now. 64 degrees, and clear skies. Gee that sounds like good weather to go mow the yard.

Testing Friday.
Car is ready, but it's going to be hot, rather lap Glen's car with the AC.

Ted, that engine sounds serious. I do have the AC fans and the fresh air fans blowing air on me, but I have the compressor off, no one wants me dripping water on the track for the condensation.

One of the guys in our club bought a GT3, and started autocrossing, and loved it. Soon he was doing track days. A few months later he showed up in a Miata. He said that he bought the Miata because he can replace a entire set of tires for less than one tire on the GT3. If he wads up the Miata, it is not a big financial hit, and absolutely everything on the car is dirt cheap compared to GT3 parts. It is not as fast, but just as much fun. He put the GT3 on normal summer performance tires, and hopes to just drive it on tours with the club and fun events.

Kids had their regional Scholastic Action Shooting this weekend. They did good for their first time. The girl was 20th overall in the girls class and the boy was 32nd in the boys class. Don't know the lass scores yet so those placements were through all classes, including expert and two of the shooters there are the fastest in the nation. Our daughter was third on her team, behind the two coaches girls that happened to win the girls overall and second overall. The boy was 4th on our team.

We were there from 8-12 and they shot a total of a minute, plus the scored that were thrown out. At least .22 is cheapish right now.

Ted, since there is one of you and two cars, I would be willing to sacrifice myself to the heat and drove the older car. I mean, we aren't as young as we used to be!

Yeah but will you block for me and create full course yellows on request?

It going to be 97 Sunday so I will be in the pool that day.
Only plus is that older hard slicks work better in the heat.
Getting brake temp should be no problem.
Ready with the cool shirt and helmet blower.
Interesting Glen modern race cars have AC now, but I like your awareness.

I would GUESS that the AC race cars have the condensation drain going to a cooling fan to help in cooling, and prevent wetting the track. Just a wild ass guess. I sure would think dripping water through a oil cooler has to help a little.

Our client wants to use some of the point cloud data of a recent flight. The LAS file is just 35,260,612 KB and that is gonna be a challenge to email to them.

33 Gig files are hard to FTP.

Hot night in our house. The AC died yesterday. It is 71 outside and we have the windows open getting some coolness inside. That will not last long as the temps are supposed to be in the 90s today.

I texted several of my buddies, and asked if they had an AC guy. I had one great one but the dude went and died on me. So I found another good one, and he just retired. His son is coming over today at 10:00.

I try to avoid the large companies that advertise on TV and have a fleet of vans with wraps and a crew of 20. I want a small company and a guy that grew up doing it with his father is perfect.

I am hoping it is a small problem. The compressor will not run. The condenser fan runs, but no compressor. The coils are clean, so I guess we will see.

Agree I have a small business AC guy that works well for us.
Last year we upgraded our 4 ton AC to 5 ton, added a variable speed furnace and installed insulated ducting and added 2 of the 1 ton mini splits (Heat/Cool).
Got a tankless water heater too.
The mini split in the family room/kitchen with high ceilings does the job so that we don't have to run the 5 ton as often.
The mini split in the 2 car garage is nice to have when you need it.
The outside photo was during installation, had not finished the electrical.
Painted the outside vertical cover to match the house.

Our HVAC unit is the one that came with the house, built in 1995. We have replaced the compressor and condenser unit once about 12 years ago. The furnace and evaporator control board died and had to be replace in 2019. It may well be time for an entire replacement. That will be fun.

Arghhhh

I hate spammers. In the last two weeks my spam load has gone way up. Most of it from an old email account I got 35 years ago and still use. I keep building rules and blocking senders.

One was saying my McAfee protection is expired. Yea, I guess so, I dropped them 20+ years ago.

Lots of proposals to help lower my mortgage payments. I am 100% positive no one on Earth can lower my mortgage payment below zero. Maybe they are gonna pay me each month?

I have had email since the earliest days. I have never ever, even once replied to one of them, or bought anything from one of them.

At least I have not seen the Nigerian prince giving me money or the make my private parts bigger or harder in a while.

One jerk email scammer is spoofing the email of a dead friend. I am sure he is not really sending them.

Heck if you’d have said something I would have thrown some money in to help you up the bid. Talk about a cool experience!

Agree about meeting Leno. He seems to just be a cool guy. I’d put Seinfeld up there too, but I have a feeling he could be a little stiffer around the general public.
