Afternoon all. Busy day here with process drawings. It was 29 on the way into the office today. Way to cold for me.

Winter returned here. It is 24 degrees and not nice outside at all.

Sunday will be back to the 70, so much better.

I was not a boring evening last night.

The crazy storm that brought snow to LA got to Oklahoma. It was a bizarre storm. From Central TX to central Nebraska! Yesterday morning it was just above freezing, and the winds were normal. We had a wild birthday party for my 90 year old MIL. It was funny at one point before my wife's nephews and grand nephews arrived I was the youngest of 5 people in the room. The conversation was all about knee, shoulder and hip replacements, pituitary gland surgery where they cut your face off, pacemaker battery replacement, and other fun topics.

We left at 3:30 to beat the arriving winds. The south winds started up about 3:30 so I was driving due south into a 40 to 50 MPH wind. Lots of extra wind noise.

As you can see for the screen capture above at 8:53 the front came in from the east, but the wind was mostly from the south. The storm was hauling ass, at 60 MPH across the ground. We had a short period of 60 MPH winds, and them the shear winds arrived. Tornadoes would pop up in 5 minutes, toss debris 20,000 feet into the air, and then just go away.

For the first time since we put in the tornado shelter, we when down there with the dogs, and medicines, insurance paperwork, dog leashes, and sat for 10 minutes as we watched the TV broadcast on my cell phone. We got .16 inches of rain and no damage at all.

Phew.

We had thunderstorms last night. 40mph winds today.

Our washer crapped out on us so we replaced that. Then the dryer broke, but it was an easy fix so we will sell that and the new dryer gets here Tuesday. We had a ton of ice last Thursday so there were some brownouts for us. Burned the septic pump up so that had to be replaced also. We really need to replace the gas range, but at least it still works for now.

I did find the wheel bin for the recycling blown over, and the water barrel that Mrs. Carrera drains in the winter was blown over. She had two cast iron dachshund lawn ornaments sitting on top of the rain barrels were blown off. One will need surgery, (welding) of a ball bearing reattached as part of one toe. The other had a bolt that held the two sides together break, so some stitches will be needed. The good news is my wife's best friend is married to a professional welder. It will take him seconds to fix them up. I would spend way more time dragging out my welder and then booger welding on a horrid weld, so I will let the pro do it. Welding cast iron is not easy for me, and a cinch for him.

Morning all. We had hail yesterday. Still have possible snow showers and depending on the location some build up. All fun and games till someone ticks off mother nature.

It is suppose to hit 71 today.

There were so far 15 confirmed tornadoes last night. Norman had several houses torn up with roofs and walls blown out. Some minor injuries but no deaths reported as yet.

Yesterday one honeydoo chore I was assigned was to go to one nephews house and get 10 - 24 inch wide concrete flowerbed edging blocks that matched the block we had now. "They" stopped making them like that so recycled is all we can get. Her nephew pulled them out of his neighbor's yard that wanted them gone. The were still kinda dirty, and he did not wash them for us. He did help load them in the El Camino, so that was a plus. Mrs. Carrera did help me unload them into the front yard this morning. I had to break up the electric leaf blower to blow the dirt out of the bed of the Elky.

The real fun will be installation of yet another new flowerbed extension. It is so much fun digging up sod, then digging out the clay soil and dumping in some of the compost soil.

Morning all. Went to bed last night with rain snow mix. Expected a fun ride in but the temp went up during the night and the moisture was gone.

It was a beautiful day yesterday. Mrs. Carrera came in and forced me into slave labor again. We finished the new metal edging on the front flowerbed.

The concrete edging bricks are just on the sidewalk taunting us with how much fun that will be in install and make the new flowerbed.

Our January and February was dead for new flights. It is sort of scary when all the clients go quiet. It is a hard part of the year to fly much anyway with so much crappy weather. All of sudden we have several projects. Whoo Hooo.

We got a large project flown yesterday. 78 Gig of images over a large area. It took a while just to copy the images and data over to the computer. My computer started on the project last night at 8:00 PM and is is over 12 hours into it, and on step 7 of 17. The CPU is running at 100% and the RAM is up to 134 Gig of the 256 Gig total. Both GPUs are cranking along. It will be tomorrow afternoon before it is done.

I had to crank up my ancient i5 system just to get online. Dang this thing is slow. Working fine, but slow.

Morning all. 32 and foggy here today. I can barely see the trees beyond the parking lot at the office. Better warm up later cause I gave the last ice scraper to the kid and didn't replace it.

70 gig of images uploaded. It takes a little over two hours for the 35 gig zip file to upload with my connection.

I can remember the computer geeks I knew all being thrilled when we got to the speed of "only" 12 minutes to download a one MB file on dial up. Non of us even had a hard drive that would hold a 35 Gig file back then. A one gig hard drive was only something to dream about.

The main system is still working hard. It should be done later today. It has used as much as 138 Gig of RAM so lots to spare. And the CPU runs along at 100% on occasion, but mostly at 40% to 75% and the main GPU is at 30% and the second GPU just loafs along at 5%.

The SSD drives never get above 5% and just for a second or two.

I am real glad I don't have to work that hard!

Then the next step will take me a day of actual work, using the mouse and clicking! My finger will be stressed and require some of the bosses beer to calm my nerves.

Just make sure not to over do it so the fingers can still open the beer.

The wrist action for beer is automatic and very strong. My mouse finger gets lots of use as well and is very practiced.
