Good morning guys.

Sid, you hate your current boss, and figure he has the money to go to Disney world with his family. Get over it. He used HIS money to on vacation. You will work for MANY different folks. Very very few jobs at your age have will have a great boss. He knows if you quit he can find another student there to replace you.

That is a tough part of learning what you want to do for a living. Working for cheap bastages that see you as just a warm body to do a simple (in his mind) job.

I worked for a guy that offered me a job while I sat in class in high school. After several years I told him I had to have the astronomical sum of 1,000 a month to stay with him. He had a HUGE house in the city and a very nice place at the lake, 5 cars, a big boat and all the latest camera equipment. He refused to pay me "that much" so I moved from Alabama to Oklahoma. I trained two different people to replace me in the Alabama job. They both quit after a week when they saw how much work I had to do. I came to OKC and got a job in 5 minutes when I showed the my new boss some of what I had learned in Alabama. I started my new job at that huge salary of 1 grand a month.

Now no more Ds just As & Bs at the worst! I would bet some of the students that got the letter made straight As. You could do it if you really want to.

Sid, I would hardly throw in the towel and claim failure. You've only applied to ONE school. If you don't get an interview, that's like asking ONE girl out and her not taking you up on the offer. There are about 50 bazillion (OK not that many, but stay with me) other options out there.

So you don't think you can afford other schools. Well, there are always ways to afford other schools. Even the expensive out of state ones. You think every kid in school has parents with $60K per year to burn? To your benefit, if you have to borrow money to go to school, right now interest rates are silly low. When inflation hits by the time you have to start repaying those loans, you'll look like a genius when your Stafford interest rate is 3% compared to the 10-15% everyone else is paying to borrow money.

Life is full of little setbacks. What will separate you from others is how you respond to them.

Go apply to other pharm programs. Get of pharm entirely. Physician's assistant? Pharmaceutical rep? Paramedic? Vet? Firefighter? You have something everyone else in the world wants but can't have--youth. You have time on your side, unlike most others.

He does, but at the end of the day he is an epic tight ass. The girl I replaced complained and he gave her a $.50 raise... Which is why she invariably left as well. He expects you to work your ass off for a little of nothing. I would talk to him about a raise, but I know it will get me almost no where pay wise, and will only piss him off.

I honestly don't care where he goes on Vacation, except for the fact that he is always crying about what things cost, and then he goes and blows money like this. He won't buy a new $500 computer that would make work flow much, much smoother but he will spend god knows what on a vacation. When cell phones weren't selling he acted like it was a huge incentive to give me a $10 commission, I heard him mention the other day that his first commission check from one carrier came in the other day.... $1200...
And don't get me started on his temper, I've only ever put up with crap like that from my father, and at least he was paying me decent. I started this job for experience, and the promise of a tech permit... That promise was only upheld when i seriously pushed the issue. I have the experience, I am done with the BS.

And doc, I'm not sure what else I would look into... PA or MD would be interesting, but I don't handle blood well at all. Pharm Rep requires a DpH, so I will continue the path I am on...
I would love to find some outdoor rec type job(mtn guide, divemaster, etc) but those don't pay worth a darn....

I just broke a personal record. I just put 60 bucks worth of gas in my El Camino. I suspect that is a record that will fall again.

It is exactly 11:26 am. Going to be a long day. Flight leaves at five, six hours later it lands and puts me three hours back.

So you're about about a working day behind me, where you are now.
The difference between East and Westcoast is four hours, isn't it?

Belgium is so small, we're all in the same time zone. If you fart hard enough here, people on the coast can feel the breeze...
