Well guys you can mark today as a special day.

I was wrong.

My personal record for putting gas in the El Camino was $68.00 back on July 10th of 2008. Gas was $3.99 a gallon back then. Today it was "only" 3.59 per gallon.

I thought I made a mistake once before, but I was wrong.

No way a pharm rep requires a doctorate. Bachelors is it, as far as I know. Or, there's a huge world of durable medical equipment (splints, therapy machines, medical devices) that needs technically-minded/scientifically-minded salespeople. The bad part is that you're a salesperson. Maybe not in a brick and mortar store, but there's all the sales target BS that goes along with it.

I have a Ducati buddy back in Mass whom I met when he was back selling Protonix and Zosyn during my residency. He and his wife live comfortable lives. (I think she's a chemist.) He's now a rep for Abbott Labs, but he's also done stints with some glucose monitoring equipment and cardiac cath stent company, IIRC. He lives a very comfortable life and seems to be a happy guy.

I'm not pushing you out of pharm, if that's what you want to do. But if you have second thoughts, there's a big world out there you (and I) don't even know about. If a guy your age can't check it out, I don't know who else is supposed to do so. Or, heck, go into business and run the damn pharmaceutical company. You'll make 100 times what the average pharmacist makes.

I don't tend to show emotion much in person... I have had people complain that I am nearly impossible to get a read on. I can have the same look on my face when I am super happy and 100% pissed....
