I have to say I like our bank. It is 3 blocks from my house and right on the way to my partners house which is within a mile of my house. The bank lobby is always empty. I just had to run up there to initiate yet one more bank transfer for the aircraft closing process. Friday afternoon, 3:30 local time. Not one other customer in my way, they have free cookies, and they are pretty good chocolate chip or snicker-doodles and I was forced to sample each. Well I was not forced by the bank folks, just forced by nature of I am a pig. They have coffee, but I don't drink coffee in the afternoons. I did get a bottle of cold water. Got the bank transfer done, and ate my cookies.

They are a small locally owned bank and I love their location.

I got up early this morning to get the yard mowed before going off to Parade. The lawn man was really pissed at the idiot sprinkler system repair moron. The idiot sprinkler repair guy changed the start time after the repairs to see all the sections run. The low life scum sucker forgot to reset the start time so the sprinkler was running on the second section already. So the yard maintenance man was treating to kick the the butt of the sprinkler guy. I got tired of all the fighting and told them they both get no pay at all for the sprinkler or mowing duties. That shut them up and now they are both mad at me for screwing everything up. I ma going to go drink one of the home owners beers. All that sprinkler work and mowing and no paycheck. What a jerk.

Talked to a guy this afternoon that wants a low mile (under 30K) 928GTS, mine has 72K
Asked him if was planning to drive it or add it to a collection. Said both.
Told him if he was planning to drive it at all, he needed to consider he will be paying a low mileage premium for a 24 year old car with a LOT of things that wear out with time, not miles. Rubber items harden, dry out, crack and break. Also aluminum items corrode and fail.

Told him when I got this car it had 40K miles and was a 14 yo car. It had had some things things upgraded. That I knew someone else that got the same year with about the same mile but spent less "due to the color." It did not have any of the upgrades mine had. He ended up spending 10K on the car fixing things that had been replaced to do the upgrades on mine spending more total for the car than I spent for mine.

He is considering mine but going to look at a lower mileage car that they are asking $120K for.

Hey Jim, how is the temp there? I see LA is 109 and San Diego is 93. That has to be crazy for SD.

Maybe you could get a cargo plane that would carry a Macan and a 911?

Might be just a bit overkill for the Aerial Photography though.

Stijn!!

Yea, a C-47 is available but the operating cost of a 70+ year old twin engine is pretty high. It won’t fit in our hangar anyway.

Winds coming from the wrong direction today...the freakin’ desert! Whassup with that? The thermometer on the front of my garage indicated 100 degrees, and that was in the shade. Ack!

We’ll cool down over the next day or two, to more normal temperatures, highs around 80 degrees, lows around 70. We had been ~70(h)/60(l) throughout June and almost a week into July. Just as long as we don’t have very many of these scorching days.

Good Weekend Morning!

It's a good start with it a balmy 73° inside and out this morning. If anything was open I'd run my errands with the window down. Since it's July the Weather channel is predicting 90° for a high so it's likely to start climbing pretty quick.

Pepper woke me up saying "good morning" and "I want out." Of course, now that I'm up and around she went back to sleep.

We've had a heat wave this past week. In the 90's ( high 90's a few days) since last Sat.
Got the A/C unit out of the cellar last Sat. and it's been running 24/7 till last night. Cold front finally came through. Got down in the 50's last night currently 63*.

Local guy had an RV custom built that he can haul 2 cars and his family to car events. He was using a Suburban and car trailer to haul one car. Evidently his wife and granddaughter didn't like traveling in a 356 speedster.

Another local guy hauls 3 or 4 cars to track events with a Semi Truck. Also takes all the support stuff.

Me, i've registered for Parade a couple of times but not been able to go. One year my 928GTS was to be featured in a historic display and was supposed to get a placard or something.

The view from the room. 5.5 hours door to door. The legal speed limit for all of the Oklahoma part was 75. Only a few vehicles moved that slow. The grocery stores sell liquor and good beer. I am chilling with a cold Fat tire. Burp. And yes, we are checked in, had time to make a grocery run and unpack.

Yes.... but surely you need something quicker than 2.7 sec 0-60.
Seriously though......that's probably faster than your new plane.

Was looking for something with 2.6 for 0-60. Does it come in Iris blau Metallic?

The Cayenne Turbo and 928GTS are both 5.4 0-60. That's plenty fast enough for me actually.

2.6s for 0-60? Pfftt! Hardly worth the effort.

It likely does not do that fast of 0-60 and it sure as heck can’t get to 211 mph either. But I bet it will get from San Diego to northern San Francisco way faster. And it will carry 4 humans total. New the airplane cost more than the 911, that is why we bought a 14 year old one.

We walked about 1/2 a mile each way and several flights of stairs to go eat dinner at the boathouse restaurant. Good view and food.

I have walked over 2.5 miles and gone up 7 flights of stairs so far today. The zone party is in 30 minutes, then the big welcome party blowout at 6:00.
The place is a maze. And very spread out.
