My new monster computer came with a video camera and microphone that mounts on top of a monitor. I did open that part of the box to look at at, but it is not hooked up. For a meeting we have 6 times per year, I will keep using the laptop.
Zoom is pretty user friendly. I usually use my iPad for the weekly class meeting so I can keep my laptop free for working.

Been doing zoom doctor appointments. Zoom or some other onferencing software that does not work too well. I got cameras microphones and speakers on my laptop and each of my two monitors. Probab;y because they are Apple. Had to get extra cameras microphones and speakers for the company Dell computer I had to give them back when I was fired. Had to install special drivers on the Dell as well.

Understand there a two sections in the new Apple processors specifically to handle and lock down security. Also they format the boot drive with a partition that the system resides on that can't be written to. I had to completely reformat a drive to downgrade a macos boot drive with an extra password to install an older system.

Dang Apple iOS upgrades. They are constant as of late. I like to have a special ring tone and text tone for my wife. She is special! I set it up, and then the update, and bam back to the same ringtones for all.

They must have moved the ring tones options as I looked and could not even find where to set the ringtones for just one contact. I was frustrated and I guess I will have to do an internet search to figure out how to set my wife up as a unique ring and text tone again.

Microsoft loves constant updates, as well. In a further up yours to Adobe Photoshop is not even on the list of default programs to open and edit a tiff file. I have to open Photoshop and load the file, no more double clicking a file and have it load Photoshop for me.

Parade was canceled for 2020 because of the Wuhan flu. Parade 2021 is scheduled to be in French Lick, IN. Parade 2022 is rumored to be in Pocono Manor, PA. Average summer temps of 50 degrees. That is just half the summer high temp in Palm Springs, CA.

So far is it just rumor, and I have not seen an official announcement. French lick is just a one day drive. Pocono Manor, PA is 21 hours of driving, so two full days.

One of my friends I look forward to meeting at Parade each year lives in Anchorage, AK. He drives down in his 1985 911 every year, even to Boca Raton, FL. We discussed meeting up next year on Face Book. I replied see ya next year in French Lick, no wait, that sounds too weird to say to any guy, see ya in West Baden, IL.

So is SSL back on line? It did cause me to have to reset my wife's phone twice.

Today is racing day. F1 practice 3 and qualifying, and then Sebring.

I had a red patch of warm skin where the shingles shot was given. Slightly sore muscle in that area and it is very warm to the touch. It looks like a sunburn in an area that is under the sleeve of my shirt. I guess I will survive.

Stijn!!

Something strange was going on with her phone, many of the contacts just were not there, yet they were on her iPad. I deleted the account and reloaded it. All fixed.

I just had the doorbell ring and some guy was asking if he could have some of the big pieces of the Bradford Pear tree. Of course I said sure, it is better than going to the landfill. So I helped him load a few of the bigger pieces. He says he makes turns the wood on a lathe and makes bowls. And he said the experts say when green it is good to turn. I don't know how he keeps it from cracking as it dries, but it ain't my problem.

F1 race was interesting. Predictable winner, and champion.

Yep the first time all season a Mercedes was not on pole.

We are supposed to get a week of high 60s and low 70s and clear skies. So the shorts came back into the clothing choice options and I picked that option.

morning all. Another 3 day weekend that was all work and no play. Well the sate of WA is going backwards I guess. Looks like another lock down is on the way. No visit from the AK kids this year. They both have public jobs and decided not to travel to see us and possibly make us sick.

Thanksgiving this year is going to be weird. My MIL is has sequestered herself and said she is not going to any large gathering, and prefers to stay at home. We went to the grocery store yesterday to get a spiral cut ham. It may well just be the two of us this year. That is better than risking a large family gathering.

We will be at about 5% of our peak years with family as there will only be 9 or 10 of us. Even now with everyone so spread apart we had 73 people last year. When I was in jr high we used to rent the fairgrounds to have enough room for everyone.

I do miss the large selection of desserts from back then. Last year we only had 3 banquet tables of desserts.

My great grandfather was one of 12 kids, and he had 14. My dad said he had so many cousins that at one family reunion they just shut down some town. Mom had one cousin.

Once my grandmothers died things got lots smaller, and now that only my MIL is left it is smaller yet.

At one Thanksgiving right after I came to Oklahoma I went with my dad's parents to a farm in Guthrie and had a thanksgiving with distant cousins I had never seen or knew about. The next year my dad retired and they moved to Oklahoma to retire so we never went back to that distant cousin family. I do have 5 cousins scattered all over the country.

I have not had a thanksgiving with my brother sine I left home to go play at being an adult long long ago. I have grown old, but I refuse to grow up.

We had to order a new battery for our 182. It is not some super special design or lithium-ion super duper battery, and it looks pretty much like most any battery. It was only a bargain $629 bucks. The good news is we don't have to hire a A&P certified aircraft mechanic to install it. It is 24 volts so I guess that is why it is so expensive.
