Watching the F1 race now. The bosses wife will have me slaving away in the back yard and then washing her car as soon as the race is over. Work, work, work, work.

F! TV sucks.
The sound is good, but video stops and starts like there is not enough bandwitdh.
Does not matter if I run it on the browser on my Laptop, or AppleTV.
The only way the video is smooth is if I watch it on my iPhone.
Was ready to watch it live and midnite last night too.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! It’s a beautiful day here in SoCal. Perfect for yard work and/or tinkering in the garage.

Same thing here. 69 degrees and the wind machines are off, not much more than a very light breeze. This is San Diego weather.
The bosses wife made me remove the leaf cover from the koi pond, put down a concrete block pad for under the bird bath, and we picked up dog crap.
I did get to play in my garage and take care of some tasks.
One drawer on my tool box did not close properly and I figured something had fallen out the back of the drawer. So empty the drawer, and fiddle with the clips that hold it to the roller bar. There were my PCV pipe cutters that had vanished.
The drawer was the pliers or things that I squeeze type of tools. I actually threw away some “tools” that were POS quality, and I had used once at most and would never use unless it was the only tool left on the planet. Since I have lots of go-to tools, I trashed the POS tools.

I puttered in the yard this afternoon. My wife is away visiting her sister. Tonight, I’m going to eat with my son & DIL. Pretty good Saturday.

I don’t understand this thing Richard referred to in his post: work/working.

Jim image that puttering in the yard, or working on the Datsun, only it is other people’s yard or car, and you have to do it to have enough money to eat and make mortgage payments. That is almost like work, only imagine you have to do it under a deadline, and in uncomfortable conditions.

At least get to do this work thing from home.

Got 6 hours of entering an average of 10 new employees to AD and 365 with licenses down to under 30 minutes. Used to take 4 to 6 hours because of all the different info that had to be entered in all the different systems.

Hoping it will give me more time to work on Glen's web site.

Good Monday morning everyone.

Like most folks that love tools, throwing away tools was almost traumatic. Some of the ones I threw out were found on the road, and some were just crappy quality tools that I have had for decades. Several of them were ones that were part of a "tool kit" that was low priced to start with. One pair of needle nose pliers had a bent tip, and were just about useless. With a drawer full of good pliers the crappy ones were just taking up room.

Morning all. Watched the F1 race from the DVR wearing my shirt that says "I support Vettal and anyone who crashes into Hamilton". Did not do me any good.

We have that movie! Specifically since we weren't far from the Salton Sea. Were you upwind or downwind from the sea? I can't imagine filming a movie like that there now. With all the crap in it I think it would be more of a Gozirra movie.

Good Day, Eh.

Looks like the only way to reliably watch F1 is with ESPN.
The cheapest way to get the ESPN lineup is SlingTV for $25 a month.
Sling does have a deal for $15/month for 3 months.

Tried F1 TV as it is under $10 a month, but it was just too choppy unless viewed on a phone or iPad.

I could justify watching F1 for $5 a race with qualifying, paddock stuff and all that.
Will have to decide if my cheap self will let me spend $13 a race with Sling.

Some of the races are broadcast on regular TV like NBC. Most are on the cable only channels. With my wife's insistence we have the "sports packages" and lots of the "sports" seem to grudgingly show racing. They will cut off the driver interviews or other interesting parts to cut to a replay of a some game payed in the 80s, or to show women's tiddly winks or poker. They seem to love talking head show with people just talking about other people playing a game. Lots of people talking about someone else playing a game, and discussing it with real passion. Then cut to a replay of a football game from the 70s. Talking about and showing people play a game like bowling or golf is popular with those channels.

A real sport like racing is not shown as much as games, even though they all claim to be sports shows.

sports channels hate me. If there is something I want to see the DVR takes care of it for me. I'll watch later in the day and skip all the talking heads and commercial breaks.

Me too.

Now the "car guy" channel is called Motorvision. It was Velocity.

I was really happy to find out Motorvision showed the entire 1000 miles of Sebring. Maybe they will be showing more racing than before. The 12 hours of Sebring had a gap of a couple of hours that it was only on an App or the internet. And the coverage kept jumping from one station to another.

Looked like they had good coverage and extras on F1 TV. But it totally sucked trying to watch it on my TV. Maybe they will fix that.

SkySports had better coverage than ESPN because they don't cut away for "Other" programming. It is where ESPN is getting their coverage. If you live in England SkySports costs a bunch. You can use a VPN and Kodi, but it is kind of spotty as they are blocking VPNs all the time. That and my AppleTV nor Router will do VPN.

Speedvision went the way of most good stuff. Someone liked it, so bought it, changed the name, added their own crap, and f'd it up.

Whooo eeeeee.

Another chamber of commerce weather day. Just perfect 70 degrees, clear sky and no wind. I was forced to have to go drive my 911 and play with the AC. It works great. Cool to see the LED light change color as the compressor cycles.

So, does this mean that the mythical season called "Winter" is over?
