Yesterday was a long day. We got up a bit early, and drove to Enid for "Thanksgiving" with my MIL., and leave behind some turkey and other leftovers.

My wife's Macan was at the dealership getting a factory recall done that replaces the sensor for the passenger side air bag. Under some conditions, it was possible for the airbag on the passenger side to not fire in a crash, and the recall fixes that problem. They were supposed to have it done Friday afternoon. They were behind, so off we went in their 200 mile 2021 Macan, and we added 200 miles to it. Besides the much bigger display, there was not a lot of difference in the cars, and the laminated price sheet was in the car, it is priced at 66K. My wife was not tempted at all to change cars. We drove from Enid, right to the dealership, topped off the gas tank to about where it was, and got our Macan back. They pulled up back to back so we transferred or stuff into our vehicle and left.

We got back home about 3:45 which was the time my brother, sister in law and nephew arrived from Montgomery, AL. They are on the way to my nephew's house in Colorado. They want to spend until the first of the year up there and get a taste of winter. My SIL is intent on moving to Colorado to be closer to their son. She was born and raised in Florida, and moved "up north" to Montgomery, AL for a job almost 50 years ago. They are both retired now. She has never really experienced a Colorado winter, or any real winter at all. She gets cold when it is 70 degrees, and a month of winter in the mountains might cure her of the desire to move. My brother really does not want to move.

We took them to a local Mexican restaurant because they were all starving. They left stuffed, and could not take home the leftovers since they are on the road. The three adults, and three dogs are all traveling in a Toyota, Highlander that is about 10 years old. I reminded them it was their idea for them to all eat Mexican food and then have a 10 hour drive in a car. Fortunately there are three dogs to blame any funny smells on.

Morning all. Took a few days off and ate a lot as well. Time to get back to work and pretend to care.

Someone has to do it!

When we were at my MIL's house we always have several chores to do. She has a son, two grandsons, and three great grandsons that all live in the same town, just a few miles away, yet I am the one that "gets" to change the furnace filters, or fix things. Her bathroom sink faucet handle was so loose it was about to come off. It was held in place with an Allen wrench. Last visit I looked at it, and did not have any Allen wrenches with me. I brought a set, and got that fixed.

Her password on her email was somehow not functioning for her iPad, so I brought my laptop and we made up a new password. Since her email is on our Exchange server for my business, I am the lord high mocus of email on the domain. I just reset the email password and all was well. It was nice not to have to call tech support for them to reset something.

I have thought about getting some components like the steering wheel and pedals and a chair. My biggest issue is space on my desk. I would need to completely change my desk, and it is an expensive L shaped desk and storage cabinets. I will just go to the garage and drive a real analog 911 instead.
They are a great way to learn a track as well.

Maybe they are like my mother-in-law's husband. I would not trust him to drain a sink let alone fix anything related.

Oh and I got boosted last Friday. Don't know if it will improve my 1/4 mile results but long term I should out last a few people.

Got a slight fever that broke at 3am Saturday and felt tire most of the day. Might also be the flu shot they gave me as well.

Yea, when I went to Laguna Secca, I asked for an instructor, at least for the first session. They said I had too much experience and they had too few instructors to provide me one. The racemaster said you should know the track from the simulators. I told him I drive real cars, not simulated ones, and I would survive. He said the first lap is at a slow pace for tire warmup so just follow the lead of the cars in front of me. I started at the back on purpose, so I would not be holding up the group. They all vanished into the distance and I knew if that was the slow pace, it was not going to be long before the front caught me.

That first time drop of the corkscrew was heart stopping, but after that I was fine. Later an instructor said he would be happy to ride with me to show my some tips and I was happy with that. He showed me the good landmarks, and good apex points and that was a bit more fun.

All in all, I never went too far sideways or off track, and had a blast, I got in my undamaged car and drove it the 1,350 miles home.

My wife bought a snow man shaped solar powered light for the koi pond area. That will be the majority, if not all of the outside decorations for Christmas.

I have a set of LEDs that I run along the gutter. They are just long enough that I can plug them end to end and make one long string. Then there are a few yard items in the center planter. For years I have have had to go outside to plug them in and unplug then at bed time. Well not anymore.

Wow, we have had several days of "San Diego" weather. And we are supposed to be that way all week. Lows in the low 50s to high 40s, sunny and not much wind. Highs in the low to mid 70s.

I like it!

I heard the PNW is getting more rain before decent weather.

We have 50s here this week. Weird.

We need to make an official change to the "W"......it should stand for Wet not West.
